iOwners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respec-
tive Listjict Re'veue Offices and then approach
ithe Inspector if Motor Vehicles at the Traffic
Branch, New Fi-e Station, in advance with a view
to etleCting any alternations that may be necessary
to comply with the provisionsof the Motor Vehicles
and hoad Traffic Ordinance, 1938, and of the
Regulations made thereunder.

Vehicles must be presented in a thoroughly clean
condition, and must have been recently overhauled.
The body and wings, axle, chassis, frame, steering
,r~ais, pping,.tiacko0 s, br.kec.nnectibons, shackles,
bolts, nuts, split 6ins, engir, engine shield and
case, cluch, gearbox, magneto or coil, sir filter,
carburettor and all working parts must be cleaned
in o de, to adi!it of" proper examination. Dust
covers, bf used, must be temj\oedc before presentation
in order to admit of an examination being made in
full., All split pins etc., must be clearly, exposed,
also qiassis and" engi J numbers. Drivers' seats
i.st be securely fastened so that the dder
can have proper control ove: the vehicle. Spot

prohibited. Each vehicle must have its tare and
maximum gross weight painted in white figures not
less than 2- inches in height upon a black ground
in a conspicuous place on the right or offside of
the vehicle.

The Registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions 6f Regulatiohs
7, 8'and 9 and the Second& Schedule to thb Hegula-
tibns 'No. 35 of 195;, and be in' such a condition
as to render each letter or figure readily dis-
tinguishable. The attention of owners of motor
omnibuses and goods vehicles is specially d reacted
to Regulation 23 (11) (a) regarding the position of
front lamps. Spot lights wi- nrit 'be allowed except
with the written approval of the Licensing
Authority.

The attention of the owners of hiring cars and
motor omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No. 6
of 1944, as amended by the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic ( Amendment No. 2 ) Regulations,
No. 70 of 1946, which require thbt printing copies
of the tariffs of maximum fares be displayed in
such vehicles. These are now available and may
be purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and at
any District Revenue Office, at 4 cents per copy.

Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defect must not be used on the ro ds until
they have been issued with a certificate, certifying
that the vehicles may be duly licensed.

2. Declaration of Pioneer Industry. The manufacture of men's, women's and children's garments,
household linen and automobile seat covers is hereby declared to be a pioneer industry for the purpose
of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952; and such manufactured products are hereby declared
to be pioneer products for the said purposes.

T is hereby notified for general information that
rates, taxes, levies and charges which are now
being collected by the Treasury or Inlaoid Revenue
'Department, on behalf of the St. George's Cor-
poration will be payable at the Town Hall, St.
George's, as from 1st Janu-ary, 1962.
With respect to the Town of St. George's these
include General Town Rites, Water Rates, Sewer-
age Rates; and with respect to the Parish of St.
George, these include Water Rates and Private
Water Rates.
