AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, 1952



NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section 3 of the Aid to
Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952 (No. 19 of 1952) that the Administrator in Council proposes
making the order set out hereunder. Any person who objects to the making of the said order should
.give notice in writing of his objections to the Clerk of the Executive Council on or before the 28th day
of November, 1961.

Aid to Pipneer Industries Ordinance, 1952 (No. 19 of 1952).

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the
AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (MANUFACTURE OF GARMENTS)

ORDER, 1961.


2. Declaration of Pioneer Industry. The manufacture of men's, women's and children's gar-
ments, household linen and automobile seat covers is hereby declared to be a pioneer industry for the
purpose of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952; and such manufactured products are hereby
declared to be pioneer products for the said purposes.

Inspection of Motor Vehicles for the half-year
ending 30th June, 1962

Regulation 22 of the Motor Yehicles
and Road Traffic Regulations, 1938

SWNERS of public service vehicles (including
motor omnibuses and hiring cars) goods
vehicles and trailers, are hereby notified that the
half-yearly inspection of these vehicles will com-
mence as follows:-

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respec-
tive District Revenue Offices and .then approach
the Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the Traffic
Branch, New Fire Station, in advance with a view
to electing any alternati6ns that may be necessary
to comply with the provision;s-of the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic Ordinance, 1938, and of the
Regulations made thereunder.
Vehicles must be presented in a thoroughly clean
condition, and must have been recently overhauled.


The body and wings, axle, chassis, frame, steering
arms, springs, trackrods, brake connections, shackles,
bolts, nuts, split pins, engine, engine shield and
case, cluch, gearbox, magneto or coil, :1ir filter,.
carburettor and all working parts must be cleaned
in order to admit of proper examination. Dust
covers, if used, must be removed before presentation
in order to admit of an examination being .made in
full. All split pins etc., must be clearly exposed,
also chassis and engine numbers. Drivers' seats
must be securely fastened so that the driver
can have proper control over the vehicle. Spot
lights, musical horns und whistles aie strictly
prohibited. Each vehicle most have its tare and
maximum gross weight painted in white figures not
less than 2- inches in height upon a black ground
in a conspicuous place on the iight or offside of
the vehicle.
The Registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions of Regulations-
7, 8 and 9 and the .-econd Schedule to the Regula-
tions, No. 35 of 1958, and be in such a condition
as to render each letter or figure readily dis-
tinguishable. The attention of owners of motor
omnibuses and goods vehicles is si eiaily d reacted
to Regulation 23 (11) (a) regarding the position of
front lamps. Spot lights will not be allowed except
with the written approval of the Licensing
Authority.
The attention of the owners of hiring cars and
motor omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No. 6
of 1944, as amended by the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic ( Amendment No. 2 ) Regulations,
No. 70 of 1946, which require that printing copies.
of the tariffs of maximum fares be displayed in
such vehicles. These are now available and may
be purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and at
any District Revenue Office, at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defecu must not be used on the roads until
they have been issued with a certificate, certifying.
that the vehicles m.ay be duly licensed.

minimize the illegal entry of high duty goods,
it is hereby notified for general information that all
rum imported into the Territory will be so led and
stamped before they are delivered out of Customs
Control.
Further, all persons who operate under, the
Liquor Dealers Licence,(Hotels, Clubs etc. Includ-
ed) are requiired to furnish returns of stock on hand
of all imported rum as at 20th November, 19l1.

diagram and report of Norris R. Williams, Assis-

with special reference to Onions and Pota-
toes must be cleared from the Transit Sheds before
they are required to be deposited in the Queen's
Warehouse.
These goods go bad after fourteen days and tend
to contaminate other types of Cargo in the Queen's
Warehouse.
Failure to comply may result in my having to
dispose of such perishable goods by public Auction.
Attention is invited to Section 91 (1) of Ordin-
ance No. 35 of 1960.

A green can-buoy located in position 120 01' 22"
N610 47' 50"W, Bearing Point Saline 178.5
1.15 nautical miles marks the position of the wreck
of the Bianca C. The top of the spar of this wreck
is only nine (9) feet below the surface of the water.
All vessels are warned to keep clear of this dan-
gerous wreck.
