is only nine (9) feet below the surface of the water.
All vessels are warned to keep clear of this dan-
gerous wreck.

OTICE is hereby given in accordance with paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section 3 of the Aid to
Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952 (No. 19 of 1952) that the Administrator in Council proposes
making the order set out hereunder. Any person who objects to the making of the said order should
give notice in writing of his objections to the Clerk of the Executive Council on or before the 28th day
of November, 1961.

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the
AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (MANUFACTURE OF GARMENTS)

ORDER, 1961.


2. Declaration of Pioneer Industry. The manufacture of men's, women's and children's gar-
ments, household linen and automobile seat covers is hereby declared to be a pioneer industry for the
purpose of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952 ; and such manufactured products are hereby
declared to he pioneer products for the said purposes.

Tenders for the Conveyance of Mails and
Passengers between Carriacou and Petit
Martinique

SEALED tenders are invited for the conveyance
Sof mails, passengers and cargo twicc weekly [ly
boat between Carriacou and Petit Martinique.
2. Persons and articles shall be conveyed free
when carried on behalf of Government and under
the conditions laid down in the contract.
3. The contract will be for a period of one year
from 1st January to 31st December, 1962.
4. Tenders should be submitted to the Chairman,
Tenders Board, .c/o Ministry of Communications &
Works, St. George's, marked "Tenders for Carria-
cou and Petit Martinique Mail Service" by noon on
18th November, 1961.

NOTICE

Tenders-Carriacou Mail and Passenger
Service


SEALE') tenders are invited for the conveyance
of mails, passengers and cargo weekly between
Grenada and Carriacou by auxiliary vessel for the
period 1st January to 31st December, 1962, in
accordance with the schedule given hereunder.
2. The vessels to be used for the service must
not be less than 40 tons and must be equipped
with adequate seating accommodation and sanitary
facilities for not less than (30) thirty passengers,
and with life boats for passengers and crew.
3. All personnel travelling on official business,
and plant material, livestock, etc. transported on
behalf of Government will be conveyed free of
charge.
4. If necessary, the successful tenderer may be
required to make arrangements to transport fuel
oil for the operation of the Electricity Services in
Carriacou, in drums of 45 gallons, and to return
the empty drums to St. George's at a fixed price
for the period of the contract.
5. Tenders should be submitted to the Chair-
man, Tenders Board, c/o Ministry of Communica-
tions & Works, St. George's, marked "Tenders for
the conveyance of mails, passengers and cargo
between GrenadB and Carriacou", by noon on 18th
November, 1961.
6. Government does not bind itself to accept
the lowest or any tender.

SCHEDULE

Service A. Leave Grenada for Carriacou each
Saturday at noon, returning each Monday
at noon, with a trip from Carriacou to
Union Island every fortnight.


Service B. Leave G(renada on Wednesday for
Carriacou returning on Thursday. Persons
may tender f. r one or both cf the two
services.

Inspection of Motor Vehicles for the half-year
ending 3 th June, 1962

Regulation 22 of the Motor Vehioles
and Road Traffic Regulations, 1938

SWNERS of public service vehicles (including
motor omnibuses and hiring cars) goods
vehicles and trailers, are hereby notified that the
half-yearly inspection of these vehicles will com-
mence as follows:--

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respec-
tive District Revenue Offices and then approach
the Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the Traffic
Branch, New Fire Station, in advance m ith a view
to effecting any alternations that may bb neces-ary
to comply with the provision's of the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic Ordinance, 1938, and of the
Regulations made thereunder.
Vehicles must be presented in a thoroughly clean
condition, and must have been recently overhauled.


The body and wings, axle, chassis, frame, steering
arms, springs, trackrcds, brake c nnections, shackles,
bolts, nuts, split pins, engine, engine shield and
case, cluch, gearbox, magneto or coil, :,ir filter,
carburettor and all working parts must be cleaned
in order to admit of proper exarrination. Dust
covers, if used, must be removed before presentation
in order to admit of an examination being made in
full. All split pins etc., must be clearly exposed,
also chassis and engine numbers. Drivers' seats
must be securely fastened so that the driver
can have proper control over the vehicle. Spot
lights, musical horns 4nd whistles aie strictly
prohibited. Each vehicle mvst have its tare and
maximum gross weight painted in white figures not
less than 22 inches in height upon a black ground
in a conspicuous place on the right or offside of
the vehicle.
The Registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions of Regulations
7, 8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the Regula-
tions, No. 35 of 1954, and be in such a condition
as to render each letter or figure readily dis-
tinguishable. The attention of owners of motor
omnibuses and goods vehicles is specially d rated
to Regulation 2: (1L) (a) regarding the position of
front lamps. Spot lights will not be allowed except
with the written approval of the Licensing
Authority.
The attention of the owners of hiring cars and
motor omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No. 6
of 1944, as amended by the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic (Amendment No. 2 ) Regulations,
No. 70 of 1946, which require that printing copies.
of the tariffs of maximum fares be displayed in
such vehicles. These are now available and may
be purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and at
any District Revenue Office, at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defect must not be used on the roads until
they have been issued with a certificate, certifying:
that the vehicles may be duly licensed.

that the two (2) roads leading to the Princess
Royal HospitUl at Carriacou from the Belair-

Top Hill Road shall be observed as one-way traffic
and all vehicles using the said roads shall travel
in one direction only as directed hereunder:
1. All vehicles travelling to the Princess Royal
Hospital will proceed by way of the
Bellevue Hospital Road near the Bellevue
Pond to the Princess Royal Hospital.
2. All vehicles leaving the Princess Royal
Hosl-ital will travel along the road by the
l)ispenser's Quarters and leading to the
junction of the Coolise-Top Hill Roads.
