NOTICE
Scholarship in Electronic Technology at the
Philips International Institute of Technological
Studies-1962/63.

HE Fed-ral Government of the West Indies
Shas accepted an offer by the Management of
the Philips Works, Eindhoven, Holland of the
above mentioned scholarship which will he ten .ble
for a study tecm of one yeir mainly iu subjects
under the general heading of Electronics and will
include such subjects as radio, television, telecom-
munications, measurement and control equipment
and their industrial applications. However, other


s objects such as light and lighting, X-rays, electron
microscopy. welding materials and techniques, and
some branches of applied chemistry will also he
possibilities.
The study will, as much as possible, be supported
by all facilities that can be provided by a close
collaboration with the Philips laboratories and
factories and will include:
(a) private theoretical and experiment studies
in the Institute.
(b) attendance to le-tures given in the Instittue.
(c) a work period in one or more of the research
or fact )ry laboratories.
Candidates should not be more then 35 years
old and should possess a degree equivalent to the
M.A. (U.S.A.) or the B.sc. (U.K.) and must have
in addition sorn practical experience. They must
also be in good health anI will be required to
undergo a medical examination.
The value of the Scholarship includes:
(a) tuition fees at the Institute.
(b) return passage, tourist class by plane to
Eindhoven, Holland.
(c) living allowance at the r te of 325 Dutch
guilders (32 approx. each month).
Applications are invited for this scholarship
which must be made in triplicate on the prescribed
forms obtainable from the Administrator's Office,
St. George's, Grenada, and completed application
forms and supporting documents must be submitted
to reach the Secretary to Government, Adminis-
trator's Office, not later than the 15th November,
1961.

BY Order nmade the 0lOh day of July, 1961, there
will be offered for sale at this Office on Frday
the 29th day of September, 1961, at 12 o'clock
noon all the right title and interest of thedefendant
to and in a leasehold lot of land known as Glebe


Crown Lands situate at Paddock in the Parish of
Saint George in the island of Grenada containing
by admeasurement One Rood and Twenty-seven
Poles or 18,240 Square Feet bounded as the same
is delinated and described in a plan marked 'X"
annexed to an indenture of Loase dated 25th June
1961, made between James Monteith Lloyd Admin-
istrator of Grenada of the One part and the
defendant of the Other pare and recorded in the
Deeds and Land Registry of Grenada in Liber E -0
at page 383 together with the buildings thereon.
The said interest is sold subject to a mortgage
dated the 7th day of July, 1960, and m.ade between
the defendant of the One Part and the Grenada
Co-operative Bank Limited of the Other part and
recorded in Liber D10 at page 637 whereunder
there is now due the Principal sum of $48,200.30
with interest thereon at $7.00 per centum per
anuum from the 30th day of June, 1961, and free
from all judgments against the defendant so far as
they are known.
The Sale is subject to the usual conditions a
copy of which may be seen at this office and to
the RESERVE PRICE $213,327.00.
