ture :-
No. 25 of 1960.-An Ordinance granting exclusive
licence to the Grenada Electricity Services
Ltd., for the exercise and performance of
functions relating to the supply of electricity
and for purposes connected therewith and
making provisions in the event of the revo-
cation of the licence.
No. 26 of 1960.-An Ordinance to authorise and
empower the Government to enter into' a
sale agreement withithe Grenada]Electricity
Services Limited.

Under the Taxes Management Ordinance.

OTICE is hereby given that the magistrate of
the Western District will hold a special
session at the Magistrate Court House, in the town
of Gouyave, on Friday, the 7th April, 1961, at 9.00
o'clock in the forenoon, for the hearing of appeals
against the assessment of land and houses.
Any person affected by any assessment and
dissatisfied with: the same, must give notice in
writing to the Magistrate not less than ten days
before the said session of his intention to object to
the same.

Saint George's Corporation Ordinance

T HE public is hereby notified that in accordance
with Section 129 of the Saint George's
Corporation Ordinance, 1961-Ordinance No. 3
of 1961-the burgess list for the municipal borough
of the Town of Saint George's has been published
by fixing a copy on the office of the Board for a
period of two weeks.
Every person whose name is not in the burgess
list published in accordance with the last preceding
paragraph and who claims to be entitled to have
his or her name entered in such burgess list, shall
within seven days of the first day of publication


give notice in writing thereof to the Secretary of
the Board.
Every person whose name is in the burgess list
may, within seven days of the first day of publica-
tion of the list, inform the Secretary in writing of
his or her objection to any other person as not being
entitled to have his name appearing therein.
Notices of claim (Form D) and notices of
Objection (Form E) are available at the office of
the Corporation.

NOTICE

ST. GEORGE'S CORPORATION

TAKE notice that an Open Court will be held at
the Corporation Office on Thursday, 14th
March, 1961 at 10.00 a.m. for the purpose of
hearing claims of persons who have submitted their
names to be inserted in the burgess list, and for
the hearing of objections, in accordance with Sec-
tions 54 and 55 of the Ordinance.
The Court shall insert in the Burgess List the
name of every claimant who has duly claimed to
have his or her name entered therein and is proved
to the satisfaction of the Court to be so entitled.
The Court shall expunge from the list the name
of every person proved to the Court to be dead.
Subject as aforesaid, the Court shall retain on the
list the name of every person to whom objection
has not duly been taken.

ST. GEORGE'S CORPORATION

Election of Councillors

1. Take notice that I will attend at the office
of the Corporation, Grenville Street, St. George's,
on Thursday, 16th March, 1961, between the hours
of 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon for the purpose of
receiving nominations for the return of eight (8)
persons to serve as Councillors two for each of the
Wards for the period commencing 28th March, 1961.
2. A person shall not be qualified to be elected
or to be a Councillor unless -
(a) Be is entitled to be, and is in fact enrolled as
a burgess; and
(b) He is a British subject by birth or natural-
ization; and


(c) He is possessed as absolute owner or as a
tenant for life or of some other estate of
freehold of or in real property assessed to
the house rate at an annual rateable value of
not less than two hundred dollars, or is the
actual tenant of a house assessed to the
house rate at an annual rateable value of not
less than two hundred and forty dollars, and
as such tenant has bona fide paid within
the preceding twelve months at least one
year's rent in respect of such house; or
alternatively.
(cl) He is in receipt of an income of not less than
one thousand dollars per annum.
3. Every candidate for Election shall be nomin-
ated in writingby a duly qualified burgess, seconded
by another.

4. In the event of a contest, polls will be opened
at four stations to be announced later-one for
each Ward. On Thursday, 23rd March, 1961,
between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. during
which time ballot papers will be issued to every
registered burgess applying for same.

VACANCY NOTICE

Education Department, British Guiana

Vacancy for Vice-Principal, Carnegie School
of Home Economics

Appointment: Pensionable, subject to pro-
bationary period of twelve months, or on contract for
three years in the first instance; contract appoint-
ment carries gratuity at the rate of '22% of salary.
Salary : In the scale $3,696-$5,760 per annum.
Commencing salary will be determined according to
qualifications and experience.
Qualifications : A Degree or Diploma in Home
Economics or Domestic Science from a recognized
Institution. Previous experience in the field of
Home Economics is desirable.
2. Information as to duties of the post and con-
ditions of appointment is obtainable, on request,

George's, Grenada.

THE WEST INDIES

Office Machines Supervisor

fHE Federal Government invites applications for
a post of Office Supervisor which it is likely
will be created on a permanent and pensionable
basis in the near future, but applications should
indicate whether their interest in obtaining this
appointment is dependent on their being offered
pensionable terms.
2. The successful candidate will be appointed at
an appropriate point within the scale $4,080x$ 120-
$4,320 x $240-$5,520 per annum depending on
his qualifications and/or experience, and will be
required to take control of the day to day running
of a small but modern photo off-set litho printing
plant and to carry out other related duties under
the general direction of a senior officer ot the
public service. Applicants should therefore have
a good working knowledge of most modern offset-
litho printing machines, cameras, plate making
equipment and bookbinding appliances; they should
have had extensive experience in the operation and
maintenance of such equipment.
3. Passages to Trinidad will be provided for the
officer his wife and children to a maximum of five
persons in accordance with General Orders. Quart-
ers are not provided but a rent allowance is payable.
4. Applications should be by letter in the can-
didats's handwriting, stating age, education, tech-
nical training and experience, present employment
and salary, and should be addressed to the Federal
Personal Officer, Federal House, Trinidad, to
reach him not later than 18th March, 1961. Copies
of two recent testimonials and the names of two
responsible persons to whom further reference can
be made should also be supplied.
