No. 2 of 1961-An Ordinance to provide for the
management of the public funds of the
Colony, for the appropriation, withdrawal
and issue of sums therefrom, for the audit of
public accounts and for matters connected
with or incidental to the purposes aforesaid.
Copies of this Ordinance may be seen at the
Government Office, the Public Library, the Trea-
sury, District Revenue Offices and Post Offices, and
Police Stations.

FFECTIVE immediately, no poultry products
will be permitted to enter this territory from
Trinidad until further notice, owing to an outbreak
of Newcastle disease in that island.

Ordinance, 1945 (No. 3 of 1945)

In the matter of a Declaration by the
Administrator in Council that certain
lands situate in the parish of St. David's,
in the Colony of Grenada are to be acquir-
ed for a public purpose.
DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(First Publication)


TH EREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the
Land Acquisition Ordinance, 1945 (No. 3 of
1945) that if the Administrator in Council considers
that any land should be acquired for a public pur-
pose he may cause a declaration to that effect to
be made;
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the
Administrator in Council that the land mentioned
and described in the Schedule hereto should be
acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for erecting
the Laura Bridge;
NOW THERIEFORE, it is hereby declared by
His Honour the Administrator, acting after consul-
tation with the Executive Council of the Colony of
Grenada, that upon the second publication of this
declaration in the (-iazette the land mentioned and
describe I in the Schedule hereto shall be acquired
for the abovementioned purpose and shall vest
absolutely in the C rown.
ANDt IT IS HEREBY FURTHER DE-
CLARED AND NOTIFIED THAT the land re-
ferred to in the Parish of St. David is by approxi-
mation 2,121 sq. ft.

SCHEDULE

All that portion of land in the Parish of
St. David in the Colony of Grenada occupied by
Mr. John Francis (who is believed to b) p rt owner)
being in area approximately 2, 121 sq. ft. more or
less and bounded on the North by lands of Mary
Charles, on the East by Laura Public Road, on tle
West by Baillies Bacolet River and on the South
by remaining land of John Francis et al.

TEEREAS it is enacted by Section 4 of the
Land Acquisition Ordinance, 1945 (No. 3 of
1945) that if it appears to the Administrator in
Council that any land is likely to be required for
any purpose which, in the opinion of the Admin-
istrator in Council is a public purpose, and it is
necessary to make a preliminary survey or other

T is hereby notified for general information that,

of 1945), the Administrator in Council has been
pleased to appoint Mr. Norris Williams to be the
Authorised Officer for the purpose of the acquisition
of the following lot of land:-

NOTICE

F EDER \L Government have accepted the offer
S of a scholarship by the Federal Republic of
GUrmany to students o The West Injies for the
University Year, 1961/62.
Subjects ; The scholarships may be granted to
students in any of the ordinary university subjects
It is tenable at any University or Engineering
College or Vocational College or College for Arts
and Music in Western Germany and Western
Berlin. Only in exceptional cases will it be tenable
in Vocational or Engineering Schools, e.g., if there
should be no applicants qualifying for a scholarship
at University level. Admission to University or
Colleges might be dillicult for students of en-
gineering and natural sciences. Chemical Engineer-
ing is not taught at German Universities.
Requirements : Applicants should be between
the ages of twenty and thirty and should have
already studies for at least two years at a recog-
nised University or have passed a University
examination (e.g. a Bachelcr's Degree). Educa-
tional qualifications must be proved by means of
Certificates and recommendations of Professors. A
working knowledge of German is. most desirable.
Applications must be submitted in triplicate, on
the prescribed forms, and they should reach the
Secretary to Government, Administrator's Office,
St. George's, nor later than 28th February, 1961.
It will only he possible to consider applicants who
have completed these forms and submitted the
required documents,
