Andrew's, on the 28th November, 1959, for a

NOTICE.

CUSTOMS WAREHOUSE- CARRIACOU.

N exercise of the power vested in me as Financial
Secretary by section 21 of the Customs Ordir.-
ance, Cap. 58, T hereby reappoint the Warehouse at
Hillsborough (which was closed as a result of
destruction by Hurricane Janet' in 1955) for ware-
housing all goods (except such as fall within the
provisions of section 23 of the said Ordinance)
imported without payment of duty on the first
entry thereof, from the 1st day of December, 1959.

NOTICE.

Drk Crystal Sugar.

i ICENCES have been granted for the importation
Sof up to a totil of 600 tons of dark crystal
sugar to meet the shortfall in local production.
With effect from 15th December, 1959, import-
ation of this type of sugar or the equivalent grade
of yellow crystal sugar will be allowed either duty
free or duty paid at such rate, subject to further
check by the Collector of Customs, as will allow it
to be sold at the same price as locally manufactur-
ed dark crystal sugar if delivered ex wharf. That
is at $24.31 per bag of 234 lbs- To the extent
possible it would be preferable for manufacturers'
representatives to place orders in bulk in the
interest of economy.

Scheduled Territories.

N exercise of the powers conferred on him by
Regulation 2 (11) of the Supplies Control
Regulations S.R. & O. No. 12 of 1959, the Con-
troller of Supplies hereby gives notice that the
following items have been added to the Schedule of
Exceptions contained in paragraph 2 of the Open
Licence for Imports for the Scheduled Territories,
published in the Government Gazette of 18th July,
1959.
Explosives
Fireworks.
2. The effect of this notice is to bring the
importation of exp'osives and fireworks under
import control. Tnese items will therefore need a
licence to import before the order is placed.
3. This notice comes into effect from 17th
December, 1959.

Vacant Pensionable Post Of Chief Housing
Officer, Ministry Of Housing And Local
Government, Trinidad And Tobago.



APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment to
the post-of Chief Housing Officer, Trinidad
and. Tcbago, which carries salary in the scale
$8,640-240 $9,120 per annum ; the commencing
salary will be determined by the candidate's
experience and qualifications. The appointment is
subject to medical fitness. The successful candi-
date would be required to contribute to the Widows'
and Orphans' Pensions Scheme at the rates in force.
2. The successful candidate would he required
to assist the Minister in:-
(a) the proper administration of Housing Acts
and the execution of all the powers and
duties upon him under those Acts;
(b) planning and execution of work approved
under the Five-Year Development Pro-
gramme and such other work as the Minis-
ter may direct.
3. Applicants should be capable of taking charge
of the Department of Housing and possess good
organising ability. Preference would be given to
persons holding any of the following qualifi-
cations :-

(i) Town Planner.
Corporate membership of the Town Planning
Institute or exemption from the Institute's
Final Examination and, in addition, experience
in design of housing estates:

(ii) Architect.
A degree of diploma in Architecture and
experience in the design of multi-storey flats
or

(iii) Engineer.
Corporate membership of the Institute of
Civil Engineers or exemption from Parts A'
and 'B' of the Final Examination of that
Institute and, in addition, experience in the
construction of multi-storey flats and the
development of land.
4. Applications should be addressed to the Chief
Secretary, Chief Secretary's Office, Red House,
Port of Spain, Trinidad, to reach him not later than
the 15th January, 1960.


5. Any further particulars required may be
obtained from the Secretary to Government,
Administrator's Office,- Grenada.

NOTICE.

Commemorative Stamps.




AN overprint of the 3 cents Antigua Stamps in
Sred with the words Commemoration Antigua
Constitution", and the 12 cents Anti-'n~ Stamps
overprinted in black with the said words shall be
on sale on the 1st January, 1960, to commemorate
the new Constitution of Antigua which comes into
force on the 1st day of January. 1960.
These stamps will be on sale for a period of one
year from 1st J'lnuary, 1960.
Any person who is in possession of the stamps
of the values of 3 cents and 12 cents authorized for
use in the Colony by the Stamps (Antigua) Order,
1953 without the above variations may at any time
between the 1st day of January, 1960, and the 1st
day of April, 1960, apply to the General Post Office
in the Colony to have such stamps exchanged for
and replaced by a valid stamp or valid stamps of
equal value authorised for use in the Colony.

Islands and Leeward Islands (Grenada).



OTICE is hereby given that a Session of the
Supreme Court of the Windward Islands and
Leeward Islanis at Grenada, in its Criminal
Jurisdiction, will be held at the Court House in the
town of St. George on Tuesday the 16th :lay of
February, 1960 at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon when
and where all concerned and bound over to prose-
cute or to give evidence or summoned as Jurors or
witnesses are required to give their personal atten-
dance, and all officers who have taken Inquisitions,
Depositions, Examinations, Recogni'ances or other
papers cognizable by the Court are required to
return the same without delay to this office.
