IN THE MATTER OF THE LAND ACQUISITION
ORDINANCE, 1945 (NO. 3 OF 1945).
AND
In the matter of a Declaration by the Governor
in Council that certain lands situated at
Belmont in the Parish of St. George's in
the Island of Grenada are to be acquired
for a Public Purpose.



DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND.
(Second Publication).



W HEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the
Land Acquisition Ordinance, 1945 (No. 3 of
1945), that if the Governor in Council considers
that any land should be acquired for a Public
purpose he may cause a declaration to that effect
to be made :
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor
in Council that the land mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto should be acquired for a
public purpose, to wit, for a public roadway:
Now, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DECLARED by His
Excellency the acting Governor, acting after cor-
sultation with the Executive Council of the Colony
of Grenada, that upon the second publication of
this Declaration in the Gazette, the land mentioned
and described in the Schedule hereto shall be ac-
quired for the above-mentioned purposes and shall
vest absolutely in the Crown:
AND IT IS HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND
NOTIFIED that a plan of the above mentioned land
may be inspected between the hours of 9 00 a.m.
and 4.00 p.m. cn Monday to Friday and 9.00 a.m.
to 12 noon on Saturday, at the Public Works
Department, Tanteen, in the town of St. George's
in the said Colony.

SCHEDULE.
All that portion of land at Belmont, in the
Parish of St. George in the island of Grenada
bounded on the north by the public highway and
lands of Michael Pilgrim, on the south by lands of


Theresa Taylor and William Cromwell, on the
East by lands of William Cromwell and on the
West by lands of Theresa Taylor.

Conference to consider amendments to the Federal
Constitution.

AS has already been announced an inter-govern-
mental conference will be convened in Port
of Spain, Trinidad, later this month to consider
what amendments should be made to the Federal
Constitution.
The Grenada Government invites all interested

which they would like to be considered at the
Conference.

POLICE NOTICE.

IlHE Motoring public is hereby notified that
signals given by the Police on point duty at
nights in the town of St. George will sometimes be
given by using different coloured lights.
RED means STOP
GREEN means GO.
It has been found necessary to use these light
signals as the town's lighting fails at times, thereby
leaving the Police on the point in complete darkness
and their signals indistinguishable to motorists.
The Public is requested to observe the above
mentioned signals.

boundary

VERY person who shall intend to erect a new
building or to make alteration or addition to
any building shall give to the Secretary and
Executive Oficer of the Central Authority notice
in writing of such intention on an approved printed
form together with two copies of a dimensioned
plan and specifications.

2. No work in connection with the erection or
alteration or addition of any building shall be
commenced until the plans and specifications
submitted by the owner have been approved by
the Central Authorty.
3. After the plans have been approved the owner
shall notify in writing the secretary and Executive
Officer of the Central Authority of the day on
which any work in connection with the building
is to be commenced.
4. The building shall be coustructei strictly in
accordance with the approved plans. The approved
plans should be kept on the premises for reference
during the progress of the work.
5. The plans for development areas shall be
drawn to the scale of not less than 1 inch to 40
feet.
6. The drawings for each floor shall be drawn
to a scale of not less than eight feet to one inch
and the block plan shall be drawn to a scale of not
less than 40 feet to 1 inch.
7. The Secretary and Executive Officer of the
Central Authority should be notified in writing
within fourteen (14) days after the completion of
any work in connection with a building.

Vacancies For Quantity Surveyors, Government Of
Trinidad And Tobago.

APPLICATIONS are invited for four (4) posts
of Quantity Surveyor (1 pensionable and 3
on contract for three years) in the Government
Service of Trinidad and Tobago with salary in the
scale $6,720-24L-$7,200 per annum; the com-
mencing salary will be determined by the
candidate's experience and qualifications.
5. The appointment is subject to medical fitness
and in the case of the pensionable post will be on
probation for two years.
3. Candidates must be Corporate Members of
the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or
other similar recognized professional body, with at
least seven (7) years' practical experience in
Quantity Surveying.
4. The duties of the posts are to prepare Bills of
Quantities and Specifications for Government
building works; to visit and inspect such works
and to measure variations and extras; to prepare
contract documents and to carry out negotiations
in connection with the settling of builders' accounts.

qualified persons for appointment as Govern-
ment Mechanical Engineer in the Colony of Antigua.
2. The following particulars relate to this post-
Appointment: The post is not pensionable
and will be on contract for a.period of.three. years...
Salary : The salary of the post will be at the
rate of $7,200 per annum. If necessary a gratuity
at the.rate of 121% of salary may be offered to
secure a suitable candidate. The gratuity would
be payable on the satisfactory completion of the
contract.
Duties: It is intended that the holder of the

Unit for the Antigua Government Industiial

MEDICAL DEPARTMENT, BRITISH GUIANA

Vacancies for Physiotherapists (Female)

APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment as
Physiotherapists (Female), Medical Depart-
ment, British Guiana.
2. Appointment and Salary : On contract
for two or three years with salary on the scale
$3,04S-$3,843 per annum commencing salary
commensurate with qualifications and/or ex-
perience: a gratuity of 221% of salary will be paid
in respect of each completed period of three
months' satisfactory resident service, either at six-
monthly intervals during the period of contract,
or in single lump sum on the conclusion of leave
earned. If the gratuity is paid at six-monthly
intervals, earned vacation leave would not count for


gratuity purposes, engagement, leavp will earn
gratuity.
3. Duties: include attending patients referred
by Specialists, Government Medical Officers, and
Registered Medical Practitioners and administering
the necessary treatment in the specialised branches
of physiotherapy, such as massages, medical gym-
nastics and electro-therapy.
4. Qualifications: Membership of the Char-
tered Sociepy of Physiotherapists (M.C.S.P.).
5. Leave and Leave Passages will be granted
in accordance with the General Orders and existing
regulations in force from time to time,
6. General Information : Appointment will be
subject to medical fitness and to Colonial Regula-
tions, General Orders, Stores Regulations, Financial
Regulations, and other local regulations in force
from time to time in so far as they are applicable.
A candidate in the West Indies, if successful,
would be provided with passages to British Guiapa
and back to the country from which she was re-
cruited, on satisfactory completion of her contract.
Quarters are not provided.
