Cambridge Examinations December, 1958.

OTICE is hereby given that the above examin-
ations will take place in December as usual.
The Entry Forms must be returned duly com-
pleted and accompanied by Treasury Receipts for
the Fees on or before Saturday, 31st May, 195S.

Distribution of Economic Plants for Planting
1959.

ERSONS desirous of obtaining the following
plants .-rooted cocoa cuttings, citrus, mango,
avocado pear, coconut, coffee, and miscellaneous
fruits, for planting in 1959, must apply on the
forms provided for that purpose entitled,
" Application Form For Plants Propagated For
Distribution by the Department of Agriculture for
Planting in 1959".
Application forms must be forwarded to the
Cocoa Agronomist, Mt. Horne Cocoa Station, St.
Andrew's, on or before 30th June, 1958.
Applications for plants received after the 30th
June, 1958, will neither be acknowledged nor
considered.
Application forms can be obtained from the
Agricultural Department, Agricultural Stations
and from members of the extension staff of the
Department of Agriculture.

Islands And Leeward Islands (Grenada).

TOOTICE is hereby given that a Session of the
Eupreme Court of the Windward Islands
and Leeward Islands at Grenada, in its Criminal
Jurisdiction, will be held at the Court House, in
the town of St. George's, on Monday the 2nd day
of June 1958, at 9.'0 o'clock in the forenoon when
and where all concerned and bound over to prose-
cute or to give evidence or summoned as Jurors or
Witnesses are required to give their personal at-
tendance, and all officers who have taken Inquisi-
tions, Depositions, Examinations, Recognizances
or other papers cognizable by the Court are required
to return the same without delay to this office.

EASTERN CARIBBEAN FARM INSTITUTE TRINIDAD
THE WEST INDIES.

Principal.

PPLICATIONS are invited for the post of
Principal of the Eastern Caribbean Farm
Institute, which is maintained by thirteen Govern-
ments in the region to train the subordinate staffs
of Departments of Agriculture and others in the
practice and theory of agriculture at sub-University
level. The Principal is a member of the Governing
Body and the administrative and academic head of
the Institute, charged with full responsibility for
the training cf sixty-four students (male) in
residence, at present, for a period of twenty-one
months: he has wide scope for initiative in pro-
posing developments in this relatively new in-
stitution.
The 150 acre mixed farm has been established
over the last five years as a self-supporting teach-
ing unit and has a balance of money available to
extend practical teaching facilities.
The post is pensionable for personal and Widows'
and Orphans' benefits under the Overseas Super-
annuation Scheme administered by the Crown
Agents for Overseas Governments and Adminis-
trations, to which the Principal, if eligible for
membership, contributes approximately 4% of basic
salary, and the Institute 22%: if he is ineligible,
an allowance is paid in lieu of pension rights.
The salary offered, subject to consideration for
upward revision n accordance with any recom-


mendations which may be made for the Trinidad
government t salary to which it is linked, is 1,450
(basic) plus 200 per annnm non-pensionable duty
allowance, 90 per annum entertainment allowance,
and mileage allowance for all official travelling.
Comfortable self-contained furnished quarters
are provided at 8% of salary subject to a maximum
of 10. 8. 4 per month plus 5% per annum of the
value of furniture supplied. Free approved
passages for the Principal and his wife and children
under the age of 18 years who are dependent
upon him up to a maximum of five person in all
from his place of domicile or recruitment will be
granted on appointment. Vacation leave at the
rate of 45 days for each full year of service, with
approved leave passages to a maximum of three
full fares, if applicable, to place of normal domicile,
are allowed after every two and a half years'
residential service.
Applications, giving full details of qualifications
and experience, together with the names and
addresses of three persons to whom reference may
be made, should be addressed to the Senior Assis-
tant Secretary, Department of Agriculture,
Whitehall, Maraval, Trinidad, (who is acting on
behalf of the Governing Body) to reach him not
later than 3rd June, 1958.




Vacant Post of Assistant Matron, Princess
Margaret Hospital, Dominica.

APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
vacant post of Assistant Matron, Princess Margaret
Hospital, Dominica.
The particulars of the port are as follows :-
Appointment: On probation for a period of
one year.
Salary : The salary of the post is in the scale
$1,656 x $72-$2,016 per annum, plus a pay
addition of 20% of salary.
Qualifications : The qualifications required are
S.R.N. or experience of not less than 1 year's
post-graduate Nursing in England.
Duties : The duties will be assigned to the
officer by the Medical Officer-in-Charge to whom
she will be directly responsible. She will also be
required to assist the Matron, relieve her in her
absence and perform such other' duties as the
Medical Officer-in.Charge may direct.
Leave: Leave will be granted in accordance
with local regulations.
Quarters: Quarters are not provided.
Applications giving full particulars of name, age,
qualifications and experience accompanied by copies
of two original testimonials should be addressed to
the Administrator, Government Office, Dominica
to reach him not later than 15th May, 1958.
