Martinique.

IEALED Tenders are invited for the conveyance
of mails, passengers and cargo weekly by
boat between Carriacou and Petit lartinique.
2. Persons and articles shall be conveyed free
when carried on behalf of Government and under
the conditions laid down in the contract.
3. Tne contract will be for a period of one year
from lst January to 31st December, 1958.
4. Tenders should be submitted to the Chairman,
Tenders Board marked "Tenders for Carriacou and
Petit Martinique Mail Services" by 4 p.m. on 15th
November, 1957.

NOTICE.

Tenders for Motor Mail Service.

SEALED Tenders are invited for the operation of
a non-passenger Motor Mail Service for a
period of three (3) years commencing 1st January,
1958, in accordance with the Schedule given here-
under.
2. The service must be operated with two (2)
motor vans with securely locked compartments for
mails, and persons who tender must state the make,
age and cubic capacity of the vehicles which they
propose to use.
3. Tenders should be addressed to the Chairman
of the Tenders Board marked Tenders for Motor
Mail Service" and should reach him not later than
the 15th November, 1957.
4. Government does not bind itself to accept the
lowest or any tender.


SCHEDULE.
A. Daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays:-
Van No. 1. Leave St. Gjorge's 7 a.m. via West-
ern Coast, calling at Post Offices and Postal
Stations at Happy Hill, Concord, Grand Roy,
Gouyave, Victoria, Union, Sauteurs, La Taste,
Morne Fendue, Tivoli, Dunfermline, Grenville,
Hope, Crochu, St. David's, Corinth, Perdmon-
temps, St. Paul's and returning to the General
Post Office at 10.30 a.m. Thereafter the van
must be available for further duty according to
Schedule C.
B. Daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays:-
Van No. 2. Leave General Post Office 10 a.m.
for Grand Anse, Woburn, Morne Jaloux, Tempe,
Snug Corner.
Leave General Post Office 2 p.m. travelling
round the island via Eastern Coast, calling at
intermediate offices on the way, and returning
at 5.30 p.m.
C. In addition to the fixed Schedule at A. and B.
both vans will be required to transport mails
between Pier and General Pest Office on any
day of the year as and when required.

NOTICE.

Tenders, Carriacou Mail and Passenger
Service.

EALED tenders are invited for the conveyance
of mails, r asser gers and cargo weekly between
Grenada and Carriacou by auxiliary vessel for the
period 1st Januiry to 31st December, 1958, in
accordance with the schedule given hereunder.
2. The vessels to be used for the service must
not be less than 40 tons and must be equipped with
adequate seating accommodation and sanitary
facilities for not less than thirty (30) passengers,
and with life boats for passengers and crew.
3. All personnel travelling on official business, and
plant material, livestock, etc. transported on behalf
of Government will be conveyed free of charge.
Suitable space must also be reserved below deck
for the carriage of ice shipped to Carriacou by the
Government's ice contractor, such ice to be trans-
ported free of charge up to a maximum of i1 tons.
4. Tenders should be submitted to the Chairman,
Tenders Board marked "Tenders for the convey-
ance of mails, passengers and cargo between
Grenada and Carriacou", by noon on 30th
November, 1957.
5. Government does not bind itself to accept the
lowest or any tender.

Saturday at noon, returning each
Monday at noon, with a trip from
C.irriacou to Union Island every

NOTICE.

TENDERS are hereby invited for the exclusive
right for one year from 1st January, 1958,
to sell all Government property which Government
desires to sell, through a licensed auctioneer, at
public auction.
Government will retain the right to sell property
at auction under the provisions of Section 11 and
12 of the Auctioneers Ordinance, 1951, during the
continuance of any contract that may be awarded.
Tenders should be addressed to the Chairman of
the Tenders Board, Treasury Department, St.
George's, and should reach him on or before the
30th day of November, 1957. They should state
percentage rate (or rates) of the prices realized
for which the applicant would be prepared to sell
the various kinds of property entrusted to him, and
should distinguish between cases where a sale is

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respec-
tive District Revenue Offices and then approach
the Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the Traffic
Branch, New Fire Station, in advance with a view
to effecting any alternations that may be necessary
to comply with the provisions of the Motor vehicles
and Road Traffic Ordinance, 1938, and of the
Regulations made thereunder.
Vehicles must be presented in a thoroughly clan
condition, and must have been recently overhauled.
The body and wings, axle, chassis, frame, steering
arms, springs, trackrods, brake connections, shak-
les, bolts, nuts, split-pins, engine, engine shield
and case, clutch, gearbox, magne:o or coil, air
filter, carburettor, and ,ll working parts must be
cleaned in order to admit of proper examination.
Dust covers, if used, must he removed before
presentation in order to admit of an examination
being made in full. All split pins, etc., must be
clarly exposed, also chassis and engine number.
Drivers' seats must be securely fastened so that
the driver can have proper control over the vehicle.
Spot lights, musical horns and whistles are strictly
prohibited. Each vehicle must have its tare and
maximum gross weight painted in white figures
not less thin 2- inches in height upon a black
ground in a conspicuous place on the right or
offside of the vehicle.
The Registered Identification marks on all vehi-
cles must conform to provisions of Regulations 7,
8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the Regula-
tions, No. 35 of 1938, and be in such a condition
as to render each letter or figure readily distin-
guishable. The attention of owners of Motor
Omnibuses and Goods Vehicles is specially directed
to Regulation 23 (11) (a) regarding the position of
front lamps. Spot lights will not be allowed
except with the written approval of the Licensing
Authority.
The attention of the owners of Hiring cars and
Motor Omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No. 6
of 1944, as amended by the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic (Amendment No. 2) Regulations, No.
70 of 1946 which require that printed copies of
the Tarrifs of Maximum Fares be displayed in
such Vehicles. These are now available and may
he purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and at
any District Revenue Office, at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defects must not be used on the roads
until they have been issued with a certificate,
certifying that the vehicles may be duly licensed.

POLICE NOTICE.

Licensing of Dogs.

ECTION 38 of the Licences Ordinance, Cap
121, Page 1336, Volume II lays down that-
SAny police constable may seize and detain
any animal or article specified in the First Part
of Schedule A hereto for which animal or article
he reasonably suspects no licence has been
taken out; and, if no person claims such animal
or article within ten days after notice of such
seizure given by advertisement posted publicly
at the nearest police station in the district in
which the seizure is made, the same shall be
sold at auction at such nearest station in such
manner as the Magistrate may direct.
Provided that the officer in charge of any
police station may kill or caused to be destroy-
ed any dog which has been seized under this

section and the owner of which cannot be
found within ten days after the seizure".
It is hereoy notified for general information that
action is being taken to enforce the provisions of
this section particularly in the case ot dogs ; there-
fore the public are requested to guide themselves
accordingly, noting that any dog reasonably sus-
pected for which no licence has been taken out,
may be seized and if the owner cannot be found
within ten days after the seizure same may be
killed.

Grenada Boys' Secondary School

Graduate Master, Grenada Boys' Secondary

2. The salary of the post is at the rate of $2,304
rising by annual increments of $120 to $2,880
