A REWVARD of $1,000 is offered to any person
giving information leading directly to the
capture of Festus LEWIS, alias "Spider", alias
'"Roy Haywood", alias "Matthew Haywood'",
alias "Blows" of St. Pauls, Grenada, a labourer
and stevedore, wanted for Murder.

DESCRIPTION AS FOLLOWS:
About 5 Ft. 8 Inches in height, stout build,
brown complexion, round and wrinkled face with
high cheek bones, scar on left cheek, mole on left
forearm, black and curly hair, gold capped teeth at
front of mouth, little finger missing on left hand,
and walks with rolling gait and chest up.
Information will be treated with the strictest
-confidence.

POLICE NOTICE.

'ECTION 399 of Chapter 55 of the Laws of
SGrenada, 1934, is hereby published for the
-general information of the public .-
Whoever, knowing or having reason to
believe that any person has committed or has
been convicted of any crime, aids conceals or
harbours the person, with the purpose of en-
abling him to avoid lawful arrest or the ex-
ecution of his sentence, shall, if the crime is
punishable with death or with imprisonment
for ten years or upwards, be liable to imprison-
ment for five years, or shall if the crime is a
felony other than aforsaid, be liable to im-
prisonment for two years, or shall, if the crime
is a misdemeanor, be liable to imprisonment
for six months."

Towns Administration Ordinance- Cap. 225.

-TOTICE is hereby given that Assessment Lists
in respect of the Town of St. George may
be seen at the Treasury, and in respect of the
other Towns at the respective District Revenue
Offices, from the 1st day of February, to the
30th day of April next, and that attendance will be
given at such offices for the purpose of receiving
the rates mentioned in the Assessment Lists.

Income Tax

OTICES of Employers Returns have been sent
I to all Employers anoi Heads of Government
Departments, and thi co-operation of these Em-
ployers is requested so that the returns may be
received at the Income Tax Department not later
than the 28th February next.
The Income Tax Ordinance, Cap. 103, provides
that it shall be the duty of every employer to
send in such return. Failure to do so within the
prescribed period carries a penalty not exceeding
$480.00,

T HE Income Tax Ordinance states that :-

It shall be the duty of every person
chargeable with tax to give notice to the Com-
missioner within three months after the com-
mencement of any year of assessment, (that is
1st January of any year) that he is so charge-
able."
2. Notices of Return have been sent out by
.the Income Tax Department, but it is the duty of
.taxpayers to ensure that they get such a form and
'make a return as required by Law. (Forms are
obtainable from the District Revenue Offices).
3. Failure to submit such a Return within
the prescribed time renders the taxpayer liable to
a penalty not exceeding 100% of the tax payable.

NOTICE.

IT is notified for general information that, arising
out of the recommendations of the London
Conference in February 1956 on British Caribbean
Federation, the Commission on Trade and Tariffs
under the Chairmnnship of Sir William Dawson
Croft, K.C.B., arrived in Barbados on the 3rd
November, 1956, and immediately commenced its
deliberations. Their terms of reference are:-
"to examine and report to the Federal
Government on the economic, fiscal and
other technical problems involved in the
establishment of a Customs Union for the
Federal area, bearing in mind the possible
accession of British Guiana and British
Honduras, and to work out a scheme for
a Customs Union, to be implemented, if
necessary, by stages."
At a Conferenceeof Liaison Officers to the Com-
mission appointed by the Unit Governments to
represent their respective territories, held at Hast-
ings House on November 12th, a draft itinerary
was agreed for the visit of the Commission to the
various territories of the area. The Commission
propose to visit Grenada as from 2nd to 8th
January, 1957, in order to obtain first hand know-
ledge of local conditions, to hold preliminary dis-
cussions with interested parties and to stitnulate
general interest in the subject of a Customs Union,
including internal free trade.
Immediately on arrival in each territory the
Commission will take such steps as are necessary,
to approach interested parties whom they would
wish to see in order to initiate discussions in the
matter. Their desire is that as far as possible
material bearing upon the subject should be. avail-
able for the consideration not later than 28th
February 1957. Any interested party of organisa-
tion who may wish to make written representation
to them are requested to send memoranda to the
Secretary to the Commission at Hastings House,
Barbados, by that date.

NOTICE.

N pursuance of the requirements of section 3 (2) (a) of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance,
1952, it is hereby notified for general information that the Governor in Council proposes to make
the undermentioned Order under section 3 of the said Ordinance.
Any person who objects to the making of such Order shall give notice in writing of his objection
and of the grounds on which he relies in support thereof to the Llerk of the Executive Council on or
before the 26th February, 1957.
