NOTICE.

Post of Registrar (-in-Training) of
Co-Operatives, Grenada.


APPLICATIONS are invited for the post of
Registrar (-in-Training) of Co-operatives,
Grenada, particulars of which are as follows:-
Training Course: The successful candidate
may be required to proceed to Jamaica in the last
week in November and no later than January,
1957, to undergo a course of training of about
nine months duration. Passages to and from
Jamaica will be provided. Salary at the flat rate
of $3,900 will be paid to the trainee during his
stay in Jamaica and, in addition, a subsistence
allowance at the following rates:-
For a married man-
First 28 nights @ $6.00 per night
Remaining nights @ $5.16 per night
For a single man-
First 28 nights @ $3.00 per night
Remaining nights @ $2.58 per night.
Transport expenses incidental to the training
course will be met, as and when required, by the
Government of Jamaica on behalf of the Grenada
Government, on certificate of the Training Officer.
Appointment: On satisfactory completion of
the course of training in Jamaica, the candidate
will then be eligible for appointment to the post of
Registrar of Co-operatives, Grenada, on terms
which follow hereunder. The post is non-pension-
able but may be declared pensionsble, if it is deci-
ded at a later stage to place it on the Fixed Esta-
blishment of the Colony's Civil Service.
The appointment will carry with it the liability
to transfer to any post of equivalent status within
the Windward Islands.
Salary: The salary of the post will be at the
rate of $4,032 per annum in the scale $4,032 rising
by annual increments of not less than $120 to a
maximum salary of $5,184 per annum.
Allowances: A transport allowance at the
rate of $1,276 per annum will also be payable.
Quarters: Quarters are not provided. Should
Government quarters become available at any time
rental would be charged at the rate of 10% of
salary or 5% of the assessed value of the quarters,
whichever is less.
Duties : The officer, after final appointment to
the post, will be Head of the proposed Co-opera-
tives Department, and his duties and functions
will be to promote, supervise and guide the develop-
ment of Co-operative Societies including Credit
Unions and Agricultural Credit Societies, in the
Colony as well as to be responsible for the registra-
tion of all such Societies and the administration of
the respective Ordinances governing these separate
bodies.
Leave and Leave Passages: The officer will
be eligible for leave and leave passages in accord-
ance with local regulations.
Applications giving full particulars of applicant's
age, experience and qualifications, and accompanied
by two testimonials should be addressed to The
Secretary. Public Service Commission, Govern-
ment Office, Grenada, B.W.I. to reach him not
later than 20th November, 1956.


NOTICE.


APPLICATIONS are invited for the six vacant
posts of Driver-Mechanic in the Plant Protec-
tion Service under the Agricultural Rehabilitation
Scheme.
2. The posts which are non-pensionable carry a
salary of $744 in the scale $744 x 36-$888.
3. Applicants must be between the ages of 24
and 35, and must be in the possession of a Driver's.
License for at least three years; and should have
reached at least seventh standard.
4. Applications in the applicants own hand
writing should be addressed to the Secretary,
Public Service Commission, St' George's, to reach
him not later than the 10th November.
5. Successful candidates will be required to-
reside in close proximity to the Plant Protection
Depbts assigned to them, and will be subject to
Colonial Regulations and General Orders in force,
locally.

NOTICE.
SEALED Tenders are invited for the conveyance
of mails, passengers and cargo weekly by
auxiliary vessel of not less than 50 tons between
Grenada and Carriacou and which will include a
trip to Union Island once a fortnight and an
additional fortnightly trip and equipped with
adequate seating accommodation for passengers
and boats and lifeboats for passengers and crew,
2. All personnel travelling on official business
and plant material, livestock, etc. transported on
behalf of Government will be conveyed free of
charge. Suitable space must also be reserved
below deck for the carriage of ice shipped to
Carriacou by the Government's ice contractor,
such ice to he transported free of charge up to a.
maximum of 11 tons.
3. The contract will be for a period of three
months, from 1st January to 31sf March, 1957, in
the first instance with the possibility of extension
for a further period on a month to month basis.
4. Tenders should be submitted to the Chair-
man, Tenders Board marked "Tenders for the
conveyance of mails, passengers and cargo between
Grenada and Carriacou", by 4.00 p.m. on Thursday,
15th November, 191 6.
5. Government does not bind itself to accept
the lowest or any tender.

in him under the Lani Acqisition Ordinance, 1945,
the Governor in Council has been pleased to.

ORDINANCE, 1945. (NO. 3 OF 1945).

In the matter of a Declaration by the Governor
in Council that certain lands situate in
the Parish of Saint Patrick in the island
of Grenada are to be acquired for a Public
Purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LANb.
(First Publication).


HITHEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the
SLand Acquisition Ordinance, 1945 (No. 3
of 1945) that if the Governor in Council considers
that any land should be acquired for a Public
Purpose he may cause a declaration to that effect
to be made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor
in Council that the land mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto should be acquired for a
public purpose, to wit, for a rural housing site :


Now, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DECLARED
by His Excellency the Governor, acting after con-
sultation with the Executive Council of the Colony
of Grenada, that upon the second publication of
this Declaration in the Gazette, the Land
mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto
shall be acquired for the above-mentioned purposes
and shall vest absolutely in the Crown.
AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND
NOTIFIED that a plan of the above-mentioned
land may be inspected between the hours of
9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday to Friday and
9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday at the Government
Office in the town of Saint George in the said
Colony.

parish of Saint Patrick in the Island of Grenada
owned by heirs of Frederick Kent being in area 25
