Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respec-
tive l)istrict revenue Offices :nd then app reach
the Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the New Pire
Station Carenage, St. George's, in advance with
a view to effecting any alterations that may be
necessary to comply with the provisions of the
Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Ordinance. 1938,
and of the Regulations made thereunder.
Vehicles must be presented in a thorouirhly clean
condition, and must have b-'en recently overhauled.
The body and wings, axle, chassis, frame, steer-
ing arms, springs, trackrods, brake connections,
shackles, helts, nuts, splitr pins, engine, engine
shield and case, clutch, gearbox, magneto or coil;
air filler, carburettor and all working parts must
be cleaned in order to admit of proper exa:miniration.
Dust covers, if used, must be removed before
presentation in order to admit of an examination
being made in full. All split pins etc., must be
clearly exposed, also chassis :nd engine numbers.
Drivers' seats must be securely fastened so that
the driver can have proper control over the vehicle.
Spot lights, musical horns ind whistles are strictly
prohibited. Each vehicle must have its tare and
maximum gross weight painted in white -:;.. not
less than ',1 inches in height uton a black ground
in a conspicuous place on the right or off' side of
the vehicle.
The registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provi-ons of Regulations
7, 8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the Regula-
tions No. 35 of 1938, and be in such a condition as
to render each letter or figure readily distinguish-
abhe. The attention of owners of Motor and
Goods Vehicles is specially directed to Regulations
23 (11).(a) regarding the Wpotition of front lamps.
Spotlights will not be allLwed except with the
written approval of the Licensing Authority.

70 of 1946, which requires that printed copies c-


I the Tariffs of Maximum Fares to be displayed in
such Vehicle's. Those are now available and may
b0e purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and
at any District revenue Office, at 4 cents per
copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defects must not be used on the roads
until they have been lisued with a Certificate,
certifying that the Vehicles may be duly licensed.

for
AN Ordinance to provide for registration of Dr. Lincoln
I-adix as a Medical practitioner in the Colony.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of Grenada as
follows:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as:
THE LINCOLN RADIX (REGISTRATION AS A
MEDICAL PR'ICTITIONER) ORDINANCE, 1955,

and shall be road as one with the Medical and Dentists
lRegistration Ordinance hereinafterr referred to as the
principal Ordinance) and any amendment thereto.

2. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Ordi-
nance it shall be lawful for the Governor, after Con-
sultation with the Medical Board, to direct the
Registrar to enter in the medical register tho name of
Dr. Lincoln Radix who holds a medical and surgical
degree, diploma or licence of the College of Physicians
and Surgeons in Boston, Massachusetts, U.TS,A, which

was at the time of his graduation in January, 1948,
registrable in the United States of America and which
the Governor may determine to recognize for the
purposes of this Ordinance.


OBJECTS AND REASONS.


The object of this Bill is to enable Dr. Lincoln Radix to practise as a
Medical Practitioner in the Colony of Grenada. Ur. Radix was registered under
t.e Medical and Deutists Registration Ordinance as amended and was employed
by the Government of Grenada flom 12th January, 1949, to 31st August, 1959,
and during this period performed his duties with satisfaction.
His registration was subsequently considered defective but he Las since
produced satisfactory evidence that his degree obtained from the College cf
Physicians and Surgeons of Massachusetts was at the time of his registration
registrable in the United States of America and in view of this it is co. sidered
that his case properly falls between the ambit of the amending Ordinance of i948.

Sisters of St. Joseph de Cluny.

S[ HFEREIAS the educational institution in the
S Colony of Grenada known as St. Joseph's
Convent is administered by the Sisters of St. Joseph
de Cluny and has been so administered for seventy-
five years or thereabouts.

ANX) WHEI-EAS the said Sisters form part of a
Congregation of Cluny in France.

AND WHEREAS certain portions of land with buildings.
thereon have been acquired by the said Sisters from
time to time which said portions of land and land have
been in the continuous, uninterrupted, peaceable,
public and unequivocal possession of the said Sisters
for a period or periods exceeding sixty years, and other
portions of land with building. thereon have been
recently acquired.

of land and buildings should be held in the name of
the said Congregation.
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that Trucsees should be
appointed and incorporated and should have power
to hold land and other property, and to charge the
same, in trust for the said Congregation.
Bi IT ENACTED by the Legislature ol Grenada as
follows :
1. This Ordinance may be cited as

2. (1) The Mother Provincial of the Sisters of St.
Joseph de hliny in the British West India les ient
in Trinidad. Br]itish West indies, the Moeher Superior
of St. .oseph's (onvent in the Colony of Grenada
and the Sister Assistant of St. Joseph's Convent in
Lth said Colony of (-reinada and their :i'eeasois in
Office are hereby appointed Trustees of the Congrega-
tion of the Sisters of St. Joseph de Cluny in this
Colony and are hereby created a body corporate by the
name of "The Incorporated Trustees of the Congrega-
tion of the Sisters of St. Joseph de Cluny (hereinafter
called the Trustees) and by that name shall have
perpetual succession and shall and may sue and be
sued in all Courts of Justice in the Colony and shall
have and use a Common Seal provided that such Seal
shall only be used in the presence of at least two of
the Trustees.
(2) The names and addresses of the persons holding
the several offices referred to in the preceding subsection
shall be notified to the Registrar of Companies and
registered in his office and be subject to the provisions
of "the Companies Ordinance" of Gi nada.
(3) he property specified in the Schedule to
this Ordinance and all other property movable and
immovable of whatever nature now vested in any
person or persons for and on behalf of the Congregation
of the Sisters of St. Joseph de Cluny shall be and the
same are hereby vested in the Trustees.

(4) The Trustees shall have full power to
acquire for the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph
de Cluny by purchase, exchange, demise, gift, bequest
or otherwise movable or immovable property in the
Colony or any estates or interest therein and also any
money, securities for money, goods or chattels whatso-
ever.
(5) The Trustees shall have the power to borrow
money upon the security of any property held by them
and for that purpose any document relating thereto
shall be signed by not less than two Trustees, provided
that any mortgage or other similar obligation shall be
made under the C(omnon) Seal of the Trustees as
provided hereunder.
(6) The Tristees shall have the power from
time to time by deed mundr their C'omiion Siel to sell,
demise, grant, convey, exchange, mortgage or otherwise
dispose of any property vested or which m;.y hereafter
be vested in them.
(7) Nothing in this Ordinance shall affect or be
deemed to affect the Rights of Her Majesty or of any
bodies )olitic or corporate or of any other persons except
such as may be mentioned or referred to in this
Ordinance and those claiming by, through, from or
under them.


THE SCHEDULE.
(1) ALL THi'1f lot piece or parcel of land situate in the town of Saint
George and island of Grenada, being portions of Lots M and N of Convent Lands
which contained altogether 4 acres 3 roods and 3 poles English Statute Measure
according to a survey and a plan thereof made under ltie Boundary Settlement
Ordinance, No. 2 of 1892, by Thomas Ogilvie, Land Surveycr, on the 20th day of
March, 1902, and lodged in the Deeds and Land Re'isitrv Office ef Grenada
SAVE and EXCEPT tl.e portion thereof marked A" in a plan by H. D. StB.
Sylvester (Surveyor) on the 10th day of July, 19'8, containing 18,975 Square
Feet English Statute Measure transferred to tie Pre entation College in Grenada
by a Declaration of Trust made by His Grace Count Finbar Ryan, Roman
Catholic Archbishop of Port-of-Spain in the island of Trinidad in the West
Indies, and the Very Rev. Mother Raphael Glynn, the Provincial Superior of the
Sisters of Cluny in the British West Indies on or about the 28th day of September,
1953, and ALSO SAVE and EXCEPT a lot measuring 1 rood 3 poles to the
North of the said lots M and N aforesaid and used as a cemetery, and lot B" in
the said plan of 10th July, 1948, intended to be granted to the Presentation
College aforesaid.

day of March, 195-1, between His Grace Count Finbar Ryan aforesaid of the One
part and the Very Rev. Mother Raphael Glynn aforesaid of the Other part and
recorded in the Deeds and Land Registry Office of Grenada atoresaid in Liber
P 9 at page 490.
(3) ALL THAT lot piece or parcel of land being portion of a larger lot
known as Douglas" formerly part of Grand Bras Estate situate in the parish of
Saint Andrew aforesaid containing by admeasurement 3 roo s and 32 poles
English Statute Measure and abutted and bounded as the same is set out and
described in the plan or diagram thereof marked A" annexed to an indenture
made the 21st day of June, 1955, between Francis Samuel Noel of the One part
and Very Rev. Mother Raphael Glynn afores-id of the Other part and recorded
in the Deeds and Land Registry Office aforesaid in Liber Q7X at page 212.


OBJECTS AND REASONS OF THIS BILL.


1. To change the present procedure whereby property owned by the Sisters
of St. Joseph de Cluny in Grenada is vested in the Rev Mother Superior of the
Order at Trinidad, and to create Statutory Trustees with perpetual succession in
whom such property will in future be vested.
2. To secure uniformity in the British West Indies in the matter of the
acquisition and title of property of the said Congregation of Cluny in these parts.
