Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Ordinance 1938,
and of the Regulations made thereunder,

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respective
District Revenue Offices and then approach the


The registered identification marks on all vehicles
must conform to provisions of Regulations 7, 8 and
9 and the Second Schedule to the Regulation No.
35 of 1938, and be in such a condition as to render
each letter or figure readily distinguishable. The
attention of owners of Motor and Goods Vehicles
is specially directed to Regulations 23 (II) (a)
regarding the position of front lamps. Spotlights
will not be allowed except with the written
approval of the Licensing Authority.
The attention of owners of Hiring Cars and
Motor Omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No. 6
of 1944, as amended by the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic (Amendment No. 2) Regulations No.
70 of 1946 which require that printed copies of the
Tariffs of Maximum Fares be displayed in such
Vehicles. Those are now available and may be
purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and at any
District Revenue Office, at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the
Inspector to have defects must not be used on the
roads until they have been issued with a Certificate,
certifying that the Vehicles may be duly licensed.

31st of May, 1955, is the closing date for
receiving applications for rooted cocoa cuttings of
high yielding strains for planting in 1956. Applica-

General Certificate of Education.

HIS examination will be held in November of
this year.
The entry fee for a subject at Ordinary level
will be ten shillings and for a subject at Advanced
Level One Pound. Besides the above, a local fee


of Four Dollars must he paid into the Treasury
and forwarded with the application for entry.
Candidates taking a, Science subject requiring a
practical examination must pay an additional Four
Dollars for each subject.

NALLY ISSUED SECURITIES IN AUSTRIA.


IFOR th e purpose of restoring an orderly state of
affairs with regard to the internal securities
issued in Austria the Mi: story of Finance has been
empowered, in terms of the Austrian Securities
Validation Law, Federal Gazette No. 188/54, to.
call up by announcement in the official notice
column of the Wiener Zeitung those Austrian
Schillinge and Reisclsmark securities, issued in
Austria, for which a validation procedure is deemed
necessary.

Securities. deemed to be subject to this validation
procedure, require to be registered with one of the
following registration offices:-

Vienna 1.

Osterreichische Landerbank A.G. Am Hof 2,
Vienna 1.
Osterreichisches Credit-Institut A.G. Herren-
gasse 2, Vienna 1, within six months of the
date of the notice of their call up in the Wiener
Zeitung.
Securities, subject to validation procedure, which
are not submitted in accordance with the detailed
provisions of the law to one of the above-named
registration offices, with the stipulated time limit,
become invalid on the expiration of the time limit-
Persons, who have not already deposited their
internal Austrian securities, either directly or
indirectly, with an Austrian hank, are lecom-
mended, in their own interest, to contact immedi-
ately, either their own bank or one of the three
Austrian banks mentioned above, for the purpose
of registering the securities, or a claim to such
securities, in the prescribed manner within the
time limits imposed, and for information as to
whether a security issue has been already officially
called up for validation, and, if so, the date of the
expiration of the stipulated time limit, and also as
to whether, as a result of an official pronouncement,
a security issue has been declared exempt from the
validation procedure.
Subject to compliance with foreign exchange
regulations the securities may also be forwarded
directly for registration to one of the three Austrian
banks named above. However, in this case the
respective Austrian bank requires to be specifically
empowered to carry through in the name of, and
for the account of, the owner of the security, all
the necessary measures required by the validation
procedure.
