T HEREAS it appears to the Governor-in-
Council that certain parcel, or portions of
lands approximately 20 acres bordering the Gren-
ville to Tivoli main road on Lower Carriere
Estate and known locally as Conference" are
likely to be required for a public purpose, and
Whereas it is necessary in the opinion of the
Governor-in-Counci! to make a preliminary survey
or other investigation of the land.
NOW THEREFORE in pursuance of section 4
of the Land Acquisition Ordinance, 1.945, it is
hereby notified that the said lands are likely to be
required for a public purpose as aforesaid and it
shall be lawful for Mr D. K. Samuels, Authorised
Officer, his agents, assistants and workmen to
enter upon the said land and to do all those things
which might be done by him under the said

S affairs with regard to the internal securities
issued in Austria the Ministry of Finance has been
empowered, in terms of the Austrian Sec-rities
Validation Law. Federal Gazette No. 188/54, to
cill up by announcement in the official notice
column of the Wiener Zeitung those Austrian
tchillinge and Reischsmark securities, issued in
Austria, for which a validation procedure is deemed
Securities. deemed to be subject to this validation
procedure, require to be registered with one of the
following registration offices:-
Creditanstalt-B.nkverein, Schottengasse C,
Vienna 1.
Osterreichische Landerbank A.G. Am Hof 2,
Vienna 1.
Osterreichisches Credit-Institut A.G. Herren-
gasse 2, Vienna 1, within six months of the
date of the notice of their call up in lha Wiener
Securities, subject to validation procedure. which
are not submitted in accordance with the detailed
provisions of the law to one of the above-named
registration offices, with the stipulated time limit,
become invalid on the expiration of the time limit.
Persons, who have not already deposited their
internal Austrian securities, either directly or
indirectly, with 'an Austrian bank, are lecom-
mended, in their own interest, to contact immedi-
ately, either their own bank or one of the three
Austrian banks mentioned above, for the purpose
of registering the securities, or a claim to such
securities, in the prescribed manner within the
time limits imposed, and for information as to
whether a security issue has been already officially
called up for validation, and, if so, the date of the

expiration of the stipulated time limit, and also as
to whether, as a result of an official pronouncement,
a security issue has been declared exempt from the
validation procedure.
Subject to compliance with foreign exchange
regulations the securities may also be forwarded
directly for registration to one of the three Austrian
banks named above. However, in this case the
respective Austrian hank requires to be specifically
empowered to carry through in the name of, and
for the account of, the owner of the security, all
the necessary measures required by the validation
