St. George's, and the respective District Revenue
Offices, between the 1st dayf of May and the 31st
day of ,uly, 1955, and that attendance will he
given during that period for the purpose of receiv-
ing the rates fixed by tle several District Boards.

the Treasury :-
(1) the amount due for taxes, fines, costs, and
expenses, and
(3) ton per cent of tihe purchase price as com-
pensation to the purchaser; (provided
that in special cases the Governor may
reduce the amount so payable as com-
pensation),
before the expiration of three months from the
date of the sale, the property sold shall, at the end
of the stipulated period, vest absolutely in tie
purchaser.

Distribution of Rooted Cuttings of Selected
Strains of Grenada Cocoa for Planting in 1956

)ERSONS desirous of obtaining rooted cocoa
S cuttings from the cocoa stations for planting
in 1956, should iappl! on the forms provided for
that purpose, entitled : Application, Form for
Distribution by the Cocoa Jndi.stry Imnprovei'Ceit

2. Application forms should bi forwarded to the
Agricultural Officer (Cocoa), -\lt. Horne Cocoa
Station, St. Andrew's, en or before the 31st May,
1955.

5. Rooted Cocoa Cuttings are delivered free of
charge to the applicants at a point, as near as

possible to the site at which they are to be planted,
accessible at the time to the motor vehicle convey-
ing the plants.
6. The conditions under which rooted cocoa
cuttings will bo issued are as follows :-
(i) The area selected by an applicant wil be
inspected by an authorised officer, as soon
as possible after the receipt of the applica-
tion, for the purpose of determining the
suitability c the site in regard to altitude,
soil typ', wind protection and other
ecological and environmental conditions.
The applicant will then be notified whether
or not the area is approved for planting.
(ii) If for stated reasons the area is declared to
he unsuitable for planting cocoa clones, no
allocation of plants will he made to the
applicant.
(iii) If the area is declared suitable, an authorized
officer will inform the applicant what
mininmumn action is required of him by the
Department o' Agriculture, in regard to
provision of ground shade, windbreaks, soil
conservation measures, soil preparation etc.
The Agricultural Department will render all
assistance, gui ance and advice in this
connection.
(i'v) The minimum area for which plants will be
issued will be that which will contain fifty

(v' The area to be planted will be re-inspected

and whether the area is in a suitable state
of preparation for planting.
(vi) Authorised officers of the Departmnent or
Agriculture, will make periodic inspections
of the replanted areas, as often as may be
considered necessary, for the purpose of
observing field conditions, the development
of the young plants and advising the grower
on the care and management of the young
plants.
7. Applicants are advised to take advantage of
the experience already gained in replanting methods
at the Cocoa Stations aln other plots, where re-
planting with rooted (coco cuttings have already
been undertaken during the last 4 to 6 years.
Applicants are accordingly invited to visit the
Cocoa Stations and to make the fullest possible use
of all information that is available.

Colony for not less than 3 years preceding
the application.
(c) Testimonials from 2 persons other than
school teachers under whom education
received.
(d) Testimonials from Head Teachers of those
schools in the Colony which have been
attended, giving all significant details of
school career.
(e) School leaving Certificat e of the ivaiversity
of Cambridge Examinations Syndicate, or of
a similar examiing body showing that the
applicant Ihas passed in a subject orasubjects
or the Science Group.
(f) A Medical Officer's certificate showing that
the applicant is in a normal state of health ,
and generally fit and strong enough to
pursue 1he full study course at the Imperial
College of Tropical Agricultuire, Trinidad.
(j) Evidence of British NationnlitVy.

Service Conmmnission after which nominations will
be submitted to His Excellency the Governio, who
will make the award to a candidate from the
\'indward Islands.
The Scholarship is in respect of Luition fees only,
