Governor and Commander-in-Chief of thle Windward Islands, left the
Colony for the United Kingdom via the other Windward Islands, on leave prior to
asunim)tion of his new appointment of Goveiior of Trinidad and Tobago.
IN pursuance of authority conferred upon him by Letters Patent, His Excellenoy
Sthe Governor has issued a Commission appointing Louis COOLs-LARTIGUE,
Esquire, O.B.E., Chief Secretary, Windward Islands, to be Governor's Deputy, Wind-
ward Islands, with effect from 14th March, 1955, until further notice.
His Excellency's Commission is published for general information

Islands of Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, an'd Dominica, and
their Dependencies, issued under my hand at Government HIouse,
Grenada, and the Public Seal of tlhe said Island of Grenada, this
12th day of March, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-five.

_) PATENT bearing date at W'ESTMINSTER the twenty-sOeventh day of August, One
thousand nine hundred and fifty-one; I do by this Commission under the Public Seal
of the Island of GRENADA appoint you the said Louis COOLS-LARTIGUE, Officer
of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empir,, Chief Sooretary, Wind-
ward Islands, to be my Deputy within the said WINDWARD ISLANDS from
on or about the 1-th day of March, One thousand nine hundred and fifty-five
and until further orders, and in that capacity, should the necessity arise for
so doing, to exercise, perform and execute for and on behalf of the Governor and
Commander-in-Chief of the WINDWARD ISLANDS during the period recited, but ;no
longer, all things that belong to the office of Governor and Coninander-in-Cl~ef
iof the WINDWARD ISLANDS according to the tenor of such Letters Patent already
recited or in other Letters Patent adding to, amending or substituting for the same,
and subject to the Royal Instructions and other Instructions passed under the
Royal Sign Manual and Signet to the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the
said WINDWARD ISLANDS of GRENADA, ST. VINCENT, ST. LUCIA and DOMINICA, and
during Her Majesty's pleasure:
II. AND I DO HEREBY DIRECT that you the said Louis CooLS-LARTIGUE shall not
continue to act as Deputy to the Governor after the Governor has arrived -at
Grenada or some other Officer having prior right so to act or to administer the
Government of the WINDWARD ISLANDS has notified that he is about.to. assume it:
111. AND I DO HEREBY require and command all and singular Her Majesty's
Officers, Civil, Military, Naval, Air and otherwise, and all others the inhabitants of the
said WINDWARD ISLANDS and all others whom it may concern to take due notice thereof
and to give their ready obedience accordingly.
