11th and 12th April, 1955.

Regulation of Traffic-

Y virtue of the powers vested in me under
Section 79 of the Motor Vehicles and Road
Traffic Ordinance, 1F38 I hereby order that after
10 a.m. on the 11th and 12th days of April, 1955:--
(i) All vehicles entering Queen's Park shall pro-
ceed by way of Emboucherie Road, and
and enter the Park through the Western
Entrance.
(ii) All vehicles leaving Queen's Park shall
proceed by way of the Wooden Bridge.
(iii) All Motor Lorries and Motor Omnibuses will
proceed direct to the parking area allotted
to them on the open space lying to the
East of the Race Track where they will set
down and take up passengers. The setting
down and taking up cf passengers elsewhere
in the Park is prohibited.
(iv) Vehicles will be prohibited trom parking or
waiting :--


(a) On that portion of Melville Street and
the Emboucherie Road which lies between
their junction with the River Roa d and ,
point on the Elmbouchorie Road situated
(i0 feet to the North of the Western
Entrance, to Queen's Park.
(b) On that portion of the River Road wlhicb
lies between a point on the road situated
100 feet to the Eaist of the Wooden
Bridge at Queen's Park and its intersec-
tion with the Emnihoucherio Road.
2. Taxi and omnibus drivers are requested to
avoid drawing up their vehicles for tco purpose of
setting down or taking up passengers in tih vicinity
of the entrance to and, the exits f em Queen's
Park after the hour of 11.30 a.m. on t.he llth an:

INCOME TAX ORDINANCE.


Income Tax Rules.


-\TOTICE is hereby given that Income Tax
V Returns are required to be forwarded to the
Commissioners of Income Tax not later than the
31sl 1May, 1955, by every person whose income
from every source whatsoever was over $480.00,
and every Company engaged in trade or business,
during the year 1954.
2. The Income Tax Forms of Return must be
fully and correctly completed and should show
deductions claimed. Supporting vouchers, partic-
ularly Interest and Life Insurance receipts, are
to be forwarded with the Returns.
3. Employers are requested to submit to the
Commissioner of Income Tax not later than 31st
March, 1955, a list of employees whose incomes
were over $360.00 per annum during the year
1954.
4. Any person who may not have received a
Form applicable to his or her particular case may
obtain such a form on application at the Income
Tax Office, St. George's, or any District Revenue
Office.
5. Attention is invited to Soction 59 of the
Ordinance which lays down that failure to comply
with any Rule made under the Ordinance is an
offence.

THE (LUMBER SAW-MILLING) ORDER, 1955.

2. Declaration of Pioneer Industry. The saw.-milling of lumber is her by declared to be a
pioneer industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, and locally saw-
milled lumber is hereby declared to be a pioneer product for the said purposes.

(50) rooted cuttings planted at a spacing of
10 ft. by 10 ft. in a single block, the equiva-
lent cf one-eighth (0) of an acre.


(v) The area to be planted w ill be re-inspected(

Food : The average level of retail prices of those articles taken into re:count iin he too'i group
was 1.5 points higher than at 31st January, 1955, and 208% higher thin t 1939. This inrcif-se was
duo to an increase in the retail price of Salt Fish and a decrease in the retail price of Sugar.
Rent: There has been no change recorded in the general level of the wvorking-class rents
Fuel and Cleaning: There w:is no change in the figure for this class luring the periodd urier
review. The increase of 163%o on the 1939 prices shown in the figure for 31st January, 1954,
remained unchanged.
Clothing: Information collected from retailers indicated that at ':t! February, 1li55, the
average level of retail prices of clothing of the kilids ger rally houuht by tie wiikiig-cilass f.im;ies
was one point higher than At 31st January, 1955, and 188% higher than at 1939. This increase was
due to an increase in the price of Stockings.
All Others : There was on increase in the retail prices rf Cups ind Saucers. Subscription
Fees for Benefit Societies were also increased. This resulted in an increase )f 7.3 points on the figure
for 3]st J;!nuary, 1955, and 95% on the 1939 prices.
