NOTICE

Emigration to the United Kingdom.


T is notified for general information and intend-
ing emigrants are hereby warned, that the
colonial Office, British Council, West India Com-
mittee and the other business or voluntary organ-
isations in the United Kingdom do not and cannot
undertake to find employment or accommodation.
Immigrants who have not made prior arrange-
nents must, like inhabitants of the United
Kingdom, depend on the service of the Labour
Exchange, the Ministry of Labour and National
Service to put them in touch with employers.
They will also have to make their own arrange-
ments for acco'moilation as there are no official
reception centres for workers arriving from
overseas.
It is therefore essential that immigrants should
have sufficient funds in hand to maintain them-
selves on arrival in the United Kingdom and pay for
transport and other expenses until they obtltin
work.

during their overland journey to the United King-
dom. It is essential that they should provide
themselves with sufficient foreign currency as well
as sterling to cover their expenses abroad.
Immigrants are faced with expense of buying
warm clothing before they obtain work. They
should equip themselves as far as possible with
suitable clothing before departure.

of the new crop.
