(1) the amount due for taxes, fines, costs and
expenses, and
(2) ten per cent of the purchase price as com-
pensation to the purchaser, (provided
that in special cases the Governor may
reduce the amount so payable),

and Maran Cocoa Stations with Potting
Baskets ("Barrels") for Growing Rooted
Cocoa Cuttings.

EALED tenders are invited to supply (a) The
Boulogne, (b) The Ashenden and (c) The
Maran Cocoa Stations with potting baskets, for the
period 1st October--31st December 1954.
Details of the design and type of basket will be
supplied on application to the Agricultural Officer
(Cocoa).
Tenders should be submitted to the Chairman,
Tenders Board, St. George's, marked "Tender for
Supplying Potting Baskets," by 4.00 p.m. on the
28th September, 1954.
Government does not bind itself to accept the
lowest or any tender.

Jurisdiction, will be held at the Court House, in the

October, 1954, at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon, when
and where all concerned and bound over to
prosecute or to give evidence or summoned as
Jurors or Witnesses are required to give their

Post of Crown Land Surveyor, Dominica.

PPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
qualified candidates for appointment on con-
tract to the non-pensionable post of Crown Land
Surveyor -in the Department of Agriculture and
Forestry, Dominica, for a period of three years in
the first instance.
Salary will be at a fixed rate in the scale
$2,400 x $120-$3,360 per annum depending on
qualifications. subsistence allowance will be pay-
able at current rates when working away from
assigned headquarters. Quarters are not provided.
Transport allowance will be paid at current rates
if the officer is required by Government to maintain
a means of transport.
A free passage to Dominica will be provided to,
take up appointment and a free return passage will
be provided on satisfactory completion of contract.
Duties will consists mainly of surveys demarcat-
ing Crown lands for reserves and for sale under a
land settlement scheme as well as the laying out of
contours under a soil conservation scheme. The
post requires an active, responsible person capable
of working on his own.
Applications with details of qualifications and!
past experience accompanied by two recent testi-
monials should be addressed to the Administrator,
Government Office, Dominica, B.W.I. and should
reach him not later than 15th October, 1954.
