for the Colonies has notified the Governor
that the Queen will not be advised to exercise Her
Majesty's power of disallowance with respect to the
following Ordinance of the Grenada Legislature:-
No. 18 of 1954.-An Ordinance further to
amend the Nutmeg Industry Ordinance.

Grenada Boys' Secondary School.
SPPLICATIONS are invited for the post of
iA Graduate Master, Grenada Boys' Secondary
School.
2. The salary of the post is at the rate of $2,304
rising by annual increments of $96 to $2,880 per
annum.
-3; Applicants should state ability to teach some
of the following subjects: -Spanish, French,
Geography and Mathematics.
4. The post is pensionable and the holder will be
subject to Colonial Regulations and local General
Orders in force. Applications should convey the
following:-
(a) Age.
(b) Schools or University at which educated
and certificates or diplomas obtained.


(c) Nature of present and past employment.
.(d) Amount of monthly salary or wages earned
in the post in which applicant was last
employed.
(c) Past experience in work of the same or a
similar kind to that required in the post
advertised.
They will also be required to furnish copies of
testimonials (which will not be returned to the-
applicant) certified as true copies by a Justice of
the Peace or a Minister of Reliion or Head of a
Government Department.
5. Applications must be in the candidate's own
handwriting and they will not be considered if they
do not contain the information 'required above.
6. Applications should be addressed to the
Secretary, Public Service Commission, Government
Office, Grenada, to reach him not later than the
30th June, 1954.

half-yearly inspection of these vehicles will com-
mence as follows:--

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respec-
tive District Revenue Offices and then approach
the Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the Traffic
Office, New Fire Station, Carenage, St. George's,
in advance with a view to effecting any alterations
that may be necessary to comply with the
provisions of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic
Ordinance, 1938, and of the Regulations made
thereunder.
Vehicles must 'be presented in a thoroughly
clean condition, and must have been recently
overhauled. The body and wings, axle, chassis
frame, steering arms, springs, trackrods, brake
connections, shackles, bolts, nuts, split pins engine
engine shield and case, clutch, gearbox, magnetic
or coil, air filter, carburettor, and all working part
must be cleaned in order to admit of proper ex
amination. Dust covers, if used, must be remove(
before presentation in order to admit of ai
examination being made in full. All split pins
etc., must be clearly exposed, also chassis an
engine number. Drivers' seats must be secure!
fastened sc that the driver can have prope
control over the vehicle. Spot lights, music
horns and whistles are strictly prohibited. Eacl


vehicle must have its tare and maximum gross
weight painted in white figures not less than
21 inches in height upon a black ground in a,
conspicuous place on the right or offside of the
vehicle.
The registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions of Regulations
7, 8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the Regula-
tions No. 35 of 1938, and be in such a condition as
to render each letter or figure readily distinguish-
able. The attention of owners of Motor Omnibuses
and; oods Vehicles is specially directed to Regula-
tions 23 (II) (a) regarding the position of front
lamps. Spot lights will not be allowed except with
the written approval of the Licensing Authority.
The attention of the owners of Hiring Cars and
Motor Omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No. 6
of 1944, as amended by. the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic' (Amendment No. 2) Regulations,
No. 70 of 1946 which require that printed copies
of the Tariffs of Maximum Fares be displayed in
such Vehicles. These are now available and may
he purchased at the l treasury, St. Gnorge's and at
any District Revenue Office, at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defects must not be used on the road until
they have been issued with a Certificate, certifying
that the Vehicles may be duly licensed.
