T ENDERS are hereby invited for the exclusive
S right, for one year from 1st January, 1954, to
sell all Government property which Government
desires to sell, through a licensed auctioneer, at
public auction.
Government will retain the right to sell property
at auction under,the provisions of section 11 and 12
of the Auctioneer Ordinance 1951 during the con-
tinuance of any contract that may be awarded.
Tenders should be addressed to The Government

should reach him on or before. the 1st day of
December, 1953. They should state percentage
rate (or rates) of the pricess realized for which the
applicant would be prepared to sell the various
kinds of property entrusted to him, and should

1953-In Honour of the arrival of Her
Majesty the Queen in the West Indies.

Regulation of Traffic

BY virtue of the powers vested in me under
Section 79 of the Motor Vehicles and Road
Traffic Ordinance, 1938, I hereby order after 8 a m,
on the 25th November, 1953 until 10.30 am.:
(i) All vehicles entering Queen's Park shall
proceed by way of Emboucherie Road, and
enter the Park through the Western
Entrance;
(ii) All vehicles leaving Queen's Park shall
proceed by way of the Wooden Bridge
(iii) All motor lorries and motor omnibuses will
proceed direct to the parking area allotted
to them on the open space lying to the
East of the Race Track where they will set
down and take up passengers. The setting
down and taking up of passengers elsewhere
in the Park is prohibited.

half-yearly inspection of these vehicles will com-
mence as follows:-

Grenville Police Station.
Tuesday 1st, Tuesday 15th, and Wednesday
23rd December, 1953, 9 a.m. to 3 p m.

Sauteurs Police Station.
Thursday 3rd and Thursday 17th December,
1953, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay in-
spection fees from now onwards at their respective
District Revenue Offices and then approach the
Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the Traffic Branch,
New Fire Station, Oarenage, in advance with a
view to effecting any alterations that may be
necessary to comply with the provisions of the
Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Ordinance, 1938,
and of the Regulations made thereunder.
Vehicles must be presented in a thoroughly
clean condition, and must have been recently over-
hauled. The body and wings, axle, chassis:, rame,
steering arms, springs, trackrods, brake connections,
shackles, bolts, nuts, split pins engine, engine
shield and case, clutch, gearbox, magneto or coil,
air filter, carburettor, and all working parts must
be cleaned in order to admit of proier'examination.
Dust covers, if used, must be removed before pre-
sentation in order to admit of an examination
being made in full. All split pins, etc., must be
clearly exposed, also chassis and engine numbeL s.
Drivers' seats must be securely fastened so that
the driver can have proper control over the
vehicle. Spot hghts, musical horns and whistles
are strictly prohibited Each vehicle must 'have
its tare and maximum gross weight painted in
white'figures not less than 2i inches in height
upon a black ground in a conspicuous place on the
right or offside of the vehicle.
The Registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions of -egu-
lations 7, 8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the
Regulations No. 35 of 1938, and be in such a con-
aition as to render each letter or figure readily

-distinguishable. The attention of owners of Motor
Omnibuses and Goods Vehicles is specially directed
tn Regulation 23 (II) (a) regarding the position of
front lamps. Spot lights will not be allowed except
with the written approval of the Licensing
Authority.
The attention cf the owners of Hiridg Cars and
Motor Omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No 6
of 1944, as amended by the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic (Amendment No. 2) Regulations.
No. 70 of 1946 which require that printed copies
of the Tariffs of Maximum Fares be displayed in
such Vehicles. These are now available and may
be purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and at
any District Reve .ue Office, at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defects must not be used on:,the roads
until they have been issued with a Certificate,
certifying that the vehicles may be duly licensed.

following that in which the bills are sent to them
for payment.
Disconnection for non-payment of electric cur-
rent bills will commence on the 3rd day of every

APPLICATIONS are invited for the post of
Forest Surveyor in the Department of Agri-
culture and Forests, Grenada, B.W.I.
Applicants must possess the certificate of a.
recognized Institute of Surveyors or be licensed to.
practise surveying in a British Colony.
The duties of the post entail the survey and
demarcation of boundaries of Forest Reserves and
Protected Forests and general internal survey of
productive forest area. Experience of survey
work in mountainous country is desirable.
The salary of the post is- $3,600 per annum.
The appointment is non-pensionable and is for a
period of 2 years in the first instance.
Local leave and allowances (subsistence and
travelling) are granted in accordance with local
regulations.
Free passages on appointment and on termina-
tion of appointment for the officer and his family
will be provided within the Caribbean area.
Quarters are not provided.
Applications should convey the following infor-
mation :
(1) Age.
(2) School/schools/Universities attended and
certificates obtained.
(3) Nature of present and past employment.
(4) Salary or wage earned in last post.
(5) Past experience in work of similar nature to

Post of Assistant Superintendent of
Public Works, Grenada.

APPLICATIONS are invited for the post of
Assistant Superintendent of Public Works,
Grenada.
2. The post, which is pensionable, carries a
salary scale of $2,880 x $120 to $4,080 per annum.
The actual point of entry in the scale will be
determined in the light of experience and individual
qualifications.
3. The appointment, subject to a medical certi-
ficate of fitness which is required to be furnished
beforehand, will be for a probationary period' of
one year in the first instance, and may be terminat-
ed during that period by either party by one
month's notice in writing.

current rate of $732 per annum and the officer will
be required to keep a car for the performance of his
duties. Government will be prepared to grant an

9. Qualifications--The officer is expected to
possess the standard qualification of a Civil
Engineer, or its equivalent, and have at least three
years working experience on such Public Works. A
working knowledge of Land and Engineering surveys
is essential. He will be required to assist the
Superintendent of Public Works generally and to
deputise for him when required to do so.
10. The officer will be required to carry out all
types of Public Works and such other duties as
may from time to time be required by the Super-
intendent of Public Works.
11. He will be subject to Her Majesty's Colonial
Regulations and to the General Orders of the
Colony.

Librarian, Public Library, St. Vincent.
The salary of the post is in the scale of $1,368 x
$72-$2,160 per annum and commenting salary
will depend on the qualifications and experience of
the officer. No Cost of Living Allowance is payable

and organisation of the Public Library in Kingstown
and for the organisation and supervision of various
branch libraries throughout the Colony, and will be
required to perform such other duties connected

The post is pensionable and any claim to pension
acquired in respect of previous Colonial Service
