Official Release.

T IE following is the text of a communication
received from the Secretary of State for the
Colonies, on the functions of United Kingdom
Trade Commissioner overseas,
During the war and post war periods, when
demand for commodities far exceeded supply, the
progressing of more urgent commercial orders from
Colonial Territories was undertaken by the Supplies
Department of the Colonial Office. Now that there
has been a considerable improvement in the supply
position, it has been decided that this work should
be returned to the Board of Trade.
2. In future; therefore, enquiries concerning
difficulties or delays in delivery of commercial
orders placed with United Kingdom Manufacturers
should be addressed in the first place to the appro-
priate United Kingdom Trade Commissioner cr
Imperial Trade Correspondent (The Bonourable
Colonial Treasurer) who will as necessary take up
the matter with the Board of Trade.
Government Office,
Grenada,
