By Sir Stephen Elliot Vyvyan Luke,
Knight Commander of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Interim Commissioner
for the West Indies, etc., etc., etc.


WHEREAS by article 3 of the West Indies (Dissolution and Interim Com-
missioner) Order in Council, 1962, it is provided that the Federation of The
West Indies and, with it, the Federal Government, the Federal Legislature,
the Federal Supreme Court and the other Federal authorities established by
the Constitution annexed to the West Indies (Federation) Order in Council,
1957, shall be dissolved on such day as the Interim Commissioner for the
West Indies may, by proclamation, appoint;
AND WHEREAS it is further provided by the said article, that the said
Constitution shall cease to have effect on such day as may be so appointed;
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the 1st day of June, 1962, should be
the day so appointed:

NOW THEREFORE, I, Stephen Elliot Vyvyan Luke, Interim Commissioner
for the West Indies, by virtue of the power and authority in me vested hereby
appoint the 1st day of June, 1962, as the day on which the Federation of
the West Indies and, with it, the Federal Government, the Federal Legislature,
the Federal Supreme Court and the other Federal authorities established by
the Constitution annexed to the West Indies (Federation) Order in Council,
1957, shall be dissolved.

of my office at Port of Spain, this
31st day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and sixty-two in the
Eleventh Year of Her Majesty's
reign.
