THE WEST INDIES SHIPPING CORPORATION


IT is hereby notified that in accordance with section 5(2) of The West Indies Shipping Corporation Act, 1961,
the following have been appointed members of The West Indies Shipping Corporation with effect from 19th
June, 1961 for three (3) years in the first instance:-
(1) R. C. DUFF URQUHART, ESQUIRE, C.B.E., Interim Shipping Commissioner (Chairman).
(2) A. BERMUDEZ, ESQUIRE, of Trinidad.
(3) R. S. A. WEBSTER, ESQUIRE, of Jamaica.
(4) W. A. KELSICK, ESQUIRE, of St. Kitts.
(5) J. S. PATTERSON, ESQUIRE, of Barbados.
(6) E. WATERMAN, ESQUIRE, Acting Federal Financial Secretary.

The Chief Technical Officer, Maritime Services, will be appointed Deputy Chairman on his assumption of
duty.

STATUTORY INSTRUMENT No. 4 of 1961.


PRO CLAMATIO N

By His Excellency The Right Honourable
-The Lord Hailes, Member of Her Majesty's
Most .Honourable Privy Council, Knight
[L.S.] Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order
of the British Empire, Governor-General and
Commrander-in-Chief of THE WEST INDIES.
etc., etc., etc.,

Governor-General.


WHEREAS by section 1 of the West Indies Shipping Corporation
Act, 1961, it is provided that the said Act shall, subject to the provisions
of section 2 thereof, come into operation on such day as the Governor-
General may by proclamation appoint:

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the said Act shall come into
operation on the 19th day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-
one:

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority and power in me
vested I, PATRICK GEORqE THOMAS, LORD HAILES, Governor-
General as aforesaid, do hereby appoint the 19th day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and sixty-one as the day on which the said Act
shall, subject as aforesaid, come into operation.

Given under my hand and the public seal
of the Federation this 15th day of
June, one thousand nine hundred and
sixty-one in the Tenth Year of Her
Majesty's reign.
