ENFORCEMENT) (AMENDMENT) BILL


OBJECTS AND REASONS

This Bill seeks to amend the Overseas Judgments
(Reciprocal Enforcement) Act, 1960, for the purpose of
including in subsection (1) of section 10 certain words which
were inadvertently omitted therefrom.

ENFORCEMENT) (AMENDMENT) BILL


A Bill intituled

AN ACT to amend the Overseas Judgments (Reciprocal
Enforcement) Act, 1960.

Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate
and the House of Representatives of The West Indies, and
by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Overseas Judgments
(Reciprocal Enforcement) (Amendment) Act, 1961, and shall
be read as one with the Overseas Judgments (Reciprocal
Enforcement) Act, 1960, hereinafter called the principal
Act 5 of Act.

the treatment in respect of recognition and
enforcement accorded by the courts of any over-
seas country to judgments given in the superior
courts of the Federation is substantially less
favourable than that accorded by the courts of
the Federation to judgments of the superior
courts of that country, the Governor-General may
by Order apply this section to that country."
