IT is hereby notified that the period of secondment to the West India Regiment of the following officer
terminated on the date set out against his name :-
Capt. (QM) E. E. DICKINSON-9th April, 1959.

PROMOTION IN THE FEDERAL PUBLIC SERVICE

THE FEDERAL SECRETARY, acting under the powers conferred on him by the Appointment in the Public Service
(Delegation) Regulations, 1958, and after consultation with the Temporary Federal Public Service Commission,
has been pleased to promote Mr. F. G. KALLOO from Executive Officer to Administrative Assistant with effect
from the 6th of May, 1959.

THE Instrument appointing MR. C. V. H. ARCHER, Federal Justice, to act as Chief Justice of the Federation
during the latter's absence on leave, is published for general information.

To: CLYDE VERNON HARCOURT ARCHER, Federal Justice.
WHEREAS by article 76 of the Constitution of The West Indies provision is made for the appointment, in the event
of the Chief Justice of the Federation for any reason being unable to perform the functions of his office, of one
of the other judges of the Federal Supreme Court to perform those functions :
And whereas the Chief Justice of the Federation is by reason of his absence on leave unable to perform the
functions of his office:
Now therefore, I the said PATRICK GEORGE THOMAS, LORD HAILES, in pursuance of the power conferred
on me by the said article and of all other powers me thereunto enabling, do appoint you the said CLYDE VERNON
HARCOURT ARCHER, Federal Justice, as from the fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-nine
to perform the functions of the Chief Justice of the Federation until such time as the Chief Justice has resumed
those functions.
Given under my Hand and the Public Seal of The West Indies
this 4th day of June, 1959, in the Eighth Year of Her
Majesty's Reign.
