THE WEST INDIES
THE CONSTITUTION OF THE WEST INDIES, ARTICLE 93

PURSUANT to article 93 of the Constitution of The West Indies, I HEREBY DEMAND from the Governments of
the Territories comprising the Federation of The West Indies, other than the Governments of the Territories of
the Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caicos Islands, the sum of one million five hundred thousand dollars
($1,500,000) as a payment on account of the amount payable by such Governments for the purposes of the
Federal Government under article 93 in respect of the financial year ending on the thirty-first day of December,
1958 and I HEREBY DIRECT that the sum hereby demanded shall be paid by the Governments of such Territories
to the Federal Government on or before the seventh day of February, 1958.

THE APPOINTMENTS IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE
REGULATIONS, 1958.

Made by the Governor-General under article 103 of the Constitution.


ARRANGEMENT OF REGULATIONS

Regulation

1. Short title.

2. Delegation to Federal Secretary.

3. Consultation with temporary Public.
Service Commission.

4. Governor-General's powers not affected.





His Excellency the Governor-General in exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by article 103 of the Constitution of The West
Indies and of all other powers him thereunto enabling, has made the
following regulations:-


Short title. 1. These regulations may be cited as the Appointments in the
Public Service (Delegation) Regulations, 1958, and shall be deemed
to have come into operation on the third day of January, one thousand
nine hundred and fifty-eight.

of the British Empire, Governor-General and
Commander-in-Chief of THE WEST INDIES.

WHEREAS by subsection (3) of section 1 of the West Indies
(Federation) Order in Council, 1957 it is provided that certain provisions
of the Constitution (being the provisions other than those mentioned in
subsection (2) of the said section) shall not come into force until such
date as the Governor-General may by proclamation appoint, and that
different days may be appointed with respect to different provisions:

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the under-mentioned pro-
... visions of the Constitution shall come into force on the twenty-first
day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-eight:
NOW THEREFORE by virtue of the power and authority in me
Vested I do hereby appoint the twenty-first day of January, one thousand
nine hundred and fifty-eight as the day on which the following provisions
of the Constitution shall come into force:-
Chapter II;
article 91;
article 93.
