WIIEREAS under section 3 of the Cotton Protection Ordinance.
1922 (No. 7 ,f 1922), ;is amended by th- Cotton Protection Amendment
Ordinance, 1926 (No. 5 of 1926), it is provided that the Administrator
in Council may from time to time b proclamation published in the
Gazett-. declare any period of each year to be a close season for cotton
ind for such other plants as may be specified in any such proclamation
either for the whole- Colony o r or such area or areas thereof as may be
specified il such proclamation:
AND WHEREAS any such Proclamation so issued and published
mn;y be revoke l. anmeide i or varied by a Proclamation similarly issued
AND WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the 16th day of April,
1963 and published in the Gazette the Administrator in Council declared
that th" period from the Ist day of May. 1963, to the 15th day of Au-
gust. 1963. both days inclusive, shall he a close season within the
meaning of th-. sail Ordinance for the whole of the Colony of Anti-
gun, excepting that. area of land situate at Friars Hill under the control
of the Central Cotton Station:
AND WFEREAS it is now expedient that the said Proclamation
dated 16th April, 1.963 should be varied:
NOW. THEREFORE, I, IAN GRAHAM TURBOTT, a Companion of
the Most Distingumish,-d Order of Saint Miclihal and Saint George, Ad-
.ninistrator of the Colony of Antigua, with the advice of the Executive
Council of thb Colony do by this my Proclamation declare that the Pro-
clamation datMd 16th April, 1963 deolaring that the period from the 1st
day of May. 1963 to th 15he h day of August. 1963, both days inclusive,
shall h!. a close ,sason within the meaning ol the said Ordinance for the
whole of the Colony of A rtigua, excepting that area of land situate at
Friar. Hill under the control of the Central Cotton Station, is hereby
varied as follows:-
For the late 15th day of An-ust, 1963 appearing in the said
Proclamation th-re is substituted the date "31st day of July, 1963 ".
AND all Her Majesty's loving subjects in the said Colony and all
others whom it may concern are her-by required to take due notice
hereof and to give their ready obedience accordingly.
GIVEN at the Administrator's Office, Government House,
Awtigua, this 24th day of April, 1963, in the twelfth
year of Her Majesty's roign.
