An Ordinance to amend the Motor Vehicle (Control
of Hire) Ordinance, 1961.

Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Council of Antigua, and by the auth-
ority of the same as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Motor short title.
Vehicle (Control of Hire) (Amendment) Ordinance,
1962, and shall be read as one with the Motor
Vehicle (Control of Hire) Ordinance, 1961, herein- 16/1961.
after called the principal Ordinance.
2. Subsection (2) of section 3 of the princi- Amendment
pal Ordinance is hereby amended by the addition section 3 o
thereto of the following words:- Ordinance.
Any person aggrieved, by the refusal of
the Minister to grant him a permit, or by any
condition endorsed on his permit, may, within
fourteen days after he is notified in writing of

An Ordinance to provide for the services of the
Colony of Antigua for the year ending on the
31st day of December, 1963.

Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of
the Legislative Council of Antigua, and by the
authority of the same as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Short title.
Appropriation Ordinance, 1963.

2. There shall be and there is hereby granted Appropr
to Her Majesty the Queen for the service of the
Colony of Antigua for the year ending on the
thirty-first day of December, 1963, the sum of
Eleveu million Five hundred and twenty-six
thousand Seven hundred and forty-four dollars to
be applied and expended in the manner and for the
services set forth in the Schedule hereto.

funds of the said Colony without further order or
formality.

An Ordinance to amend the Hotels Tax Ordi-
nance, 1962.

Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of
the Legislative 'loncriil of Antigna, and by the
authority of the same as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Hotels Short title.
Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 1963, and shall be
read as one with the Hotels Tax Ordinance, 1962, 141962.
hereinafter called the principal Ordinance.
2. At the end of section 7 of the principal Amendment
Ordinance the following subsection shall be added- of section 7
of principal
(3) Every Inspector shall be furnished Ordinance.

Act.

Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent
Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Council of Antigua, and by the author-
ity of the same as follows:-


1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Small short title.
Charges Act (Amendment) Ordinance, 1963, and
shall be read as one with the Small Charges Act, Cap.s7.
as amended, hereinafter called the principal Act. 2/1938 419,

carried on in the Colony by any person in
accordance with the terms and conditions of
a valid licence issued to him for the purpose
by the Administrator.
(9) The Administrator may either refuse
to grant such a licence or grant such a licence
subject to such terms and conditions as he
may deem fit to impose, and any breach of the
terms or conditions of such a licence shall
render the licence null and void. The grant
or the refusal of such a licence shall not be
questioned in any legal proceedings.
(10) The Administrator may in writing
delegate to any public officer or police officer
any of the powers vested in him by virtue of
the provisions of the preceding subsection
with respect to lotteries to be conducted solely
for charitable purposes or for such other
deserving objects as may be specified by the
Administrator.
(11) The Administrator may make
Regulations prescribing the fees to be paid for
thd issue of licences under the provisions of
this section, and until such Regulations are
made, the Administrator shall charge such
fees as he may deem fit and proper.
(12) For the avoidance of doubts it is
hereby declared that the Administrator in the
exercise of the functions conferred on him by
this section shall, save as otherwise provided
by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the
United Kingdom or by Instructions under the
Rovy-l Sign Manual and Signet, obtain and act
in accordance with the advice of the Executive
Council."

CUSTOMS DUTIES.



Resolution of the Legislative Council of Antigua dated
February 19th 1963, made under section 15 of the Cus-
toms Duties Ordinance, 1927 (No. 1111927).


WHEREAS section 15 of the Customs Duties Ordinance,
1927, provides that the Legislative Council may from time to
time by resolution increased reduce, abolish, or otherwise alter
the Customs duty leviable on any goods imported into the
Colony.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislative Council of Anti-
gua as follows:-

that for Item 83 of the First Schedule to the Cus-
toms Duties Ordinance, 1927, as amended, there shall be
substituted the following Item:-
