Bank of England Notes.
I append, for general information,
details of a Notice issued by thle Bank
of England on the 25th September,
1962 calling in certain Hank Notes of
the denomination of 10s. : --
The Bank of England, in exer-
cise of the powers conferred upon
them by Section 1 (5) of the Cur-
rency and Bank Notes Act, 1954,
hereby call in on the 29th October,
1962, for payment of the face value
thereof, all the notes of the Bank
of the denomination of 10s. which
formed part of the series in issue
at the Bank from the 22nd Novem-
ber, 1928 until the 15th November,
1961. By virtue of the said Sec-
tion 1 (5) the notes hereby called
in will not be legal tender after
the 29th October, 1962. "
2. This Notice refers to all 10s.
notes of the old series, printed in
mauve or brown on white paper and
without a portrait of Her Majesty the
Queen, issued during the years 1928
to 1961. Up to and including 29th
October, 1962, such notes will remain
legal tender and may ie used in the
ordinary way. The public are, how-
ever, being advised to pay into their
banking accounts without delay any
of these notes in their possession.
3. The notes called in will not be
legal tender after 29th October, 1962,
but will still be exchangeable at the
Head Oflice of the Bank of England.
The Bank cannot undertake to ex-
change notes through the medium of
the post.

Electricity consumers in the Grays
Farm and Greenbay areas are hereby
notified that a new transformer sub-
station has been installed at Greenbay
and that electrical energy to these
areas will in future be supplied from
this sub-station.

This sub-station will oome into
operation on Monday 5th November
and all consumers are notified that
their electrical appauratus should be
adjusted to suit the supply of 230
Volts A.C. single phase.
