Proclamation dated 24th October 1962, bringing into
operation the Hotels Tax Ordinance, 1962.
BY THE ADMINISTRATOR
A PROCLAMATION.

WHEAREAS by section 15 of the Hotels Tax Ordinance,
1962 (No. 14 of 1962) it is provided that the said Ordinance
shall come into operation on such date as the Administrator
shall by proclamation published in the Gazette appoint.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DAVID JAMES GARDNER ROSE,
an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire,
Acting Administrator of the Colony of Antigua, do by this my
proclamation declare that the said Ordinance shall come into
operation on the 1st day of November, 1962.
AND all Her Majesty's loving subjects in the Colony of
Antigua and all others whom it may concern are hereby required
to take due notice hereof an I to give their ready obedience
accordingly.
GIVEN at Government House, Antigua, this
24th day of October, 1962, in the eleventh
year of Hler Majesty's reign.

Proclamation dated 27th October 1962, proroguing the
Legislative Council of Antigua.
BY THE ADMINISTRATION OF ANTIGUA.
A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of subsection (1)
of section 18 of the Antigua Constitution and Elections Ordi-
nance, 1951, as amended, the Administrator by Proclamation

dated the 12th day of December, 1961, appointed a Session of
the Legislative Council of Amigua to be held in the year 1962
to commence on the 3rd day of January, 1i62:
AND WHEREAS in pursuance of the Proclamation
aforesaid the said Counlcil duly n et in session on the 3rd day of
January. 1962, at the Legislative Council Chamber in the City
of Saint John, in the Colony of Antigua:
AND WHEREAS by subsection (1) of section 25 of the
aforesaidi Ordinance it is provided that the Administrator, acting
in accorda- ce with the advice of the Chief Minister, may at any
time by Proclamation published in the Gazette prorogue the said
Conn.il:
AND WHEREAS in accordance with the advice of the
Chief Minister it is deemed expedient to prorogue the said
Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DAVID JAMES GARDNER ROSE,
a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire,
Acting Administrator of the Colony of Antigua, acting in
accordance with the advice of the Chief Minister of the said
Colony, and by virtue of the powers vested in me under sub-
section (1) of section 25 of the Antigua Constitution and
Elections Ordinance, 1951, as amended, and all other powers
thereunto me enabling, do hereby proclaim that the Legislative
Council of Antigna shall be prorogued as from the 1st day of
November, 1962, until such further time as shall be appointed
by proclamation made in accordance with the provisions of
section 18 of the said Ordinance, for the first sitting in the
next session of the said Council.
AND the Speaker and Members of the said Council and
all other Her Majesty's Officers and loving subjects in the said
Colony and all those whom it may concern are hereby required
to take due notice hereof and to govern themselves accordingly.
GIVEN at the Government House, Antigua, this 27th
day of October, 1962, and in the eleventh
year of Her Majesty's reign.
