GREETINGS:
WHEREAS by subsection (2) of
section 4 of the Windward Islands
and Leeward Islands (Courts) Order-
in-Council, 1959, it is provided that
Puisne Judges of the Supreme Court
constituted thereby shall be appointed
by the Governor-Gen-ral, acting on
the recommendation of the Judicial
and L-gal Service Commission:
NOW THEREFORE KNOW that
by virtue of and under the authority
duly vested in the Governor-General
of the Federation, I, HARVEY LLOYD
DA COSTA. Acting Governor-General
of the Federation of The West Indies,
acting on the recommendation of the
Judicial and Legal Service Com-
mission, herrchy appoint you the said
ELVIN ST. BERNARD to be a Puisne
Judge of the Supreme Court of the
Windward Islands and Leeward Is-
lands with effect from the 16th day
of February, 1962. with all the
powers, functions, jurisdiction and
authority appertaining to the said
office of Puisne Judge.
AND ALL Her Majesty's loving
subjects in the Windward Islands and
Leeward Islands and all others whom
it may concern are hereby required
to take due notice thereof and to
govern themselves accordingly.

the Commission appointed by the
Administrator to inquire into:

(a) the nature of the incident or
incidents alleged to have taken
place between the Manager or other
person representing the Manage-
ment of the Long Bay Hotel, and
Clifton Thomas of Ottos and others,
on the 23rd day of April, 1962,
(b) the nature of the incident
alleged to have taken place between
the Manager or other person repre-
senting the Management of the
Antigua Horizons Hoel and Mrs.
A. DYER, on the 23rd day of
April, 1962-
(c) the in;tiure of the action or
steps, takPn by any m'-mber or
members of the Antigua Police
Force in connection with the inci-
dents referred to in paragraph (a)
above, and whether such action or
steps as may be found to have been
taken by tih police were justified
under the pre ailing circumstances,
(d) whether the Manager or any
other person representing the
Management of either of the above-
mentioned Hotels took any action
or steps which discriminated against
any person or group of persons
making use of the grounds of the
said Hotels. or any property
adjacent, thereto, and
(e) any other facts or circum-
stances which contributed to the
occurrence of any of the abovemen-
tioned incidents which have
occurred,
will hold its first sitting at the Legis-
lative Council Chamber, St. John's,
Antigua. on Monday the 28th day of
May, 1962 at 10.00 o'clock in the
forenoon.

that Land Tax is due and payable not
later than 31st July each year. When
any tax or any part thereof remains
unpaid at the expiration of the above
mentioned date tbe person liable to
pay the same shall in every case pay
an additional amount of 2J% on the
amount of such tax.

Tax Ordinance No. 1 of 1917 which
reads as follows:--

Every person who at any
timeC comes into possession in his
own right, or in that of his wife,
or as attorney y or agent or
guardian or committee of any
other person, of any land by
grant from tbh Crown, purchase,
inheritance, d e v is e, lease or
agreement for leas., or otherwise,
shall, within one month next
after he so comes into possession
notify the Treasurer thereof and
furnish him with such particulars

Motor Vehicles
Tenders are invited for the compre-
hensive insurance coverage of all
Government owned motor vehicles
for the period 15th July 1962, to
14th July. 1963. Ther- are approxi-
mately 100 motor vehicles including
trailers and Cane Carts.

2. The contract of insurance must
provide ttht where coverage is given
during the currency of tho Policy it
will expire on tho' termination of
the Policy and in such case for an
adjustment of the appropriate pre-
mium to be made.
