PROCLAMATION DATED DECEMBER, 12, 1961, APPOINTING A
SESSION OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE COLONY.
BY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF ANTIGUA.
A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of subsection (1)
of section 25 of the Antigua Constitution and Elections Ordi.
nance, 1951, as amended, the Administrator by proclamation
dated the 12th day of December, 1961, prorogued the
Legislative Council of the Colony of Antigua until such further
time as may he appointed, by proclamation made in accordance
with the provisions of section 18 of the said Ordinance, for the
first sitting in the next session of the said Council:
AND WHEREAS it is provided by subsection (1) of
section 18 of the said Ordinance that the sessions of the said
Council shall be held at such times and places as the Adminis-
trator may appoint by proclamation published in the Gazette:
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that a session of the
said Council should be held in the year 1962.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, IAN GRAHAM TURBOTT, Adminis-
trator of the Colony of Antigua, by virtue of the powers.
vested in me under section 18 of the Antigua Constitution and
Elections Ordinance, 1951, as amended, and all other powers
thereunto me enabling, do by this my proclamation appoint a
session of the Legislative Council of Antigua to be held during
the year 1962 in the Legislative Council Chamber in the City
of Saint John, Antigua, and Wednesday the 3rd day of
January, 1962, at 10.30 o'clock in the forenoon, as the time at
X which the first sitting of the said session shall commence.

AND the Speaker and the Members of the said Council
and all other Her Majesty's Officers and loving subjects iri the
said Colony and all those whom it may concern are hereby
required to tiike due notice hereof and to govern themselves
accordingly.
GIVEN at the Government House, Antigua, this 12th
day of December, 1961, and in the tenth year
of Her Majesty's reign.

Notice made by the Administrator dated 16th Deoembe
1961, under section 30 of the Interpretation and
General Olauses Act, 1955.

[Gazetted 21st December, 1961.]

WHEREAS it is provided by section 30 of the Interpre-
tation and General Clauses Act, 1955, (No. 12 of 1955) that
when the Administrator considers it necessary to change the
title of any public office he shall cause a notice to that effect to
be published in the Gazette declaring that such change of title
shall take effect or be deemed to have taken effect from a date
to be specified in such notice and the substituted title shall
replace the former title wherever the former title appears in any
Act or in any deed or other instrument made or issued pur-
suant to or consequent upon such Act.
NOW, THEREFORE I, IAN GRAHAM TURBOTT, Ad-
ministrator of the Colony of Antigua, in accordance with the
provisions of section 30 of the abovementioned Act do issue
the following notice:-
1. SHORT TITLE. This notice may be cited as the Public
Offices (Change of Title) Notice, 1961.
2. 'CHANGE OF TITLE. The title of the public offices
appearing in the second column of the Schedule hereto shall be
substituted for the title ,of the public offices appearing in the
first column of the Schedule hereto wherever the latter appear
in any Act, or in any deed or other instrument made or issued
pursuant to or consequent upon such Act, and such change of
title shall be deemed to have had effect from the 4th day of
January, 1961.
