INQUIRY INTO HOTEL INDUSTRY


It is notified for general information that under the
authority of Section 8 of the Trade Disputes (Arbitration and
Inquiry) Act, 1939, the Administrator has appointed a Board
of Inquiry with the following terms of reference:

To inquire into the causes of the present unsettled
state of Labour Relhtion. in the Hotel Industry in Antigua
and to make recommendations with particular reference
to :-
(a) the existing dispute between the Trade
Winds Hotel and the Antigua grades and Labour
Union;
(b) the rate of wages that should be paid by
the hotels;
(c) other conditions of employment that should
exist throughout the Hotel Industry; and

(d) any other relevant matter which the Board
sees fit.
2. The Board of Inquiry will consist of Mr. DOUGLAS
HAYNES, M.B.E. (Chairman), Mr. R. C. SPRINGER, M.A. of
Barbados and Dr. GEORGE EATON of the U. C. W. I. Institute
of Social and Economic Research.
3. The Board of Inquiry will be conducted during the
next fortnight.
