Quantity Surveyor, Public Works
Department, Antigua.


1. APPOINTMENT. The question
as to whether the post will be made
pensionable will be considered later
this year. If, however, the appoint-
ment is on contract, a gratuity at the
rate of 121 per cent of salary will be
paid on the satisfactory completion of
the contract. Salary scale $6000 x
240-6720 per annum.
2. QUALIFICATIONS. Membership
of the Royal Institute of Chartered
Surveyors or equivalent qualifications,
with preferably some experience in
the office of a practising Quantity
Surveyor.
3. Information as to duties of the
post and conditions of service, obtain-

Antigua.

fications and experience and accom-
panied by at least two testimonials

Travelling and subsistence allow-
ances are payable in accordance with
local regulations in respect of appiov-

duties performed as (Currency Officer.

QUARTERS:

Quarters are not provided, bnt in
the event of Government (|iiarters
being available the officer will be
required to pay rental at the rate of
10% of salary, or 5% of the capital
value of quarters, whichever is the
less.

LEAVE AND LEAVE PASSAGES:

Vacation leave on full salary will
be granted at the rate of 45 days for
each completed period of 12 months'
resident service or as may be pr ovided
in regulations of General Orde., from
time to time.


Leave passages will be granted in
accordance with local leguiatilns.

PASSAGES:

Free passages to St. Vircf:it will lie
provided for the officer, hi i wife and

DANGER EXPECTED.
C. RED PENNANT when hoisted to serve as SMALL CRAFT WARNING only.
AT NIGHT.
A. TWO DETONATING ROCKETS will be Fired from the Harbour Master's Office
to warn shipping
B. A RED LI(GIHT will be displayed at Police Stations.
DAY & NIGHT.
The Police will go through St. John's and Villhges sounding their whistles.
Telephone Exchanges will inform subscribers. After a hurricane warning has hbee
received the news will be broadcast by The Antigua Broadcasting Service 644
