The following messages are published
for general information:
From the Minister of Transport, the
Rt. Hon. Ernest Marples, M.P.:
"Seasonal greetings to all members
of the Mer chant Navy, and particularly
to those of you who are overseas.
"Seafarers have to sp-nd long
periods away from their homes and
families, but I know that absenc- from
home is felt especially at (hristmas.
So I am very glad to know that many
of you will again be enjoying the
hospitality and traditional good cheer
in clubs for seafarers at portsall over
the world. May I express my sincere
thanks to all those who work so hard
to ensure that this shall be so.

of good fortune for the New Year."

The Administrator of Monteerrat
has made the'following appointment
under section 3 of the Marriage Ordi-
nance, 1921, (Montserrat No. 6 of
1921):-
Pastor JAMES GEORGES of the
Apostilic Faith Mission, to be a
Marriage Officer, from 10th December,
1960.

The Attention of all Tobacco
Dealers and Pedlars is drawn to
s-ctions 8 and 9 of the Tobacco
Ordinance No. 3 of 1947 as amended,
which provide that every dealer shall
keep a Tobacco purchase book and
Tobacco sales book and every pedlar
shall keep a pedlar's purchase book.


Any person who disobeys or
neglects or refuses to obey the
provisions of the Ordinance shall be
liable to be prosecuted for such
disobedience, neglect or refusal.

that in pursuance of Rules made by
the Chief Justice under section 16 of
the Leeward Islands and Windward
Islands (Courts) Order in Council,
1939, and duly approved as therein
provided on the 19th day of June,
1959, (he Honourable Puisne Judge
selected for the sitting of the Court
has appointed the day of the month
on which ensuing Circuit Court shall
sit for the trial of Criminal and Civil
causes in the summary and higher
jurisdiction of the Court, and the hear-
ing of appeals from Magistrates as
follows: that is to say:-
The Antigua Circuit on Monday
the 9th day of January, 1961, at
10.00 o'clock in the forenoon.
