that the newly erected broadcasting
station. Radio Montserrat, will be
test-broadcasting between 5 p.m. and
6 p.m. on Wednesday and Sunday
afternoons for the next two or three
weeks. It will be transmitting on
1550 Kes. broadcasting band.

120-4,320, plus a pay addition of
20% of salary.

Allo wances.

Travelling and Subsistence Allow-
ances are payable in accordance with
local regulations, in respect of ap-
pr,ved travel on duty.

Quarters,

Quarters are not provided.

Passages.

Free passages to St. Vincent will be
provided on first appointment for the
officer, his wife and children, not
exceeding five persons in all; Chil-
dren to be under 18 years of age, un-
married and dependant on the officer.
In Iih ca e of a contract appointment
or appointment on secondment free
pass.;ges will be provided on the
satisfactory termination of the con-
tract or secondmnent.


Leave a(nd Leave Passages.

Vacation leave on full salary will
be granted in accordance with local
leave regulations. In the case of a
contract appointment, vacation leave
will be granted at the rate of one
week for each completed period of
three months resident service. Such
leave to be taken on the satisfactory
termination of the contract.

Leave passages are provided in
accordancec with the Windward
Islands Leave Passage Regulations.

Medical Attention.

Taxation.
All Government officials are liable
to taxation imposed by local enact-
ments.

Colonial Regulations, local General
Orders, and Financial ani Store

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the short title.
Development (Ice and Cold Storage) Loan
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1957, and shall be read
as one with the Development (Ice and Cold Storage)
Loan Ordinance 1956, hereinafter called the Prin- 2z196
cipal Ordinance.


2. The Principal Ordinance is hereby
amended by substituting the word "later" for the
word "less in the proviso to paragraph (b) of
section 6.

Proclamation dated July 16, 1957, bringing into operation the Stamp Act
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1957.

\WHERE.AS by section 3 of the Stamp Act (Amendment)
ordinance 1957 (No. 6 of 1957) it is provided that the said
Ordinance shall come into operation on a date to be appointed
by the Governor by Proclamation published in the Gazette.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEC LOVELACE, a Member of
the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Administrator
of the Colony of Antigua, do by this my proclamation declare
that the- said Ordinace shall come into operation on the 25th
day of July, 1957.
AND all Her Majesty's loving subjects in the Colony
of Antigua and all others whom it may concern are hereby
requiredl to take. due notice hereof and to give their ready
obedience accordinglyy .

CGIVEN at the Administrator's Office, Antigua,
this 16th d:ly of July, 1957, in the sixth
year of Her Majesty's reign.

1957, No. 17.
The Immigration and Passport (Amendment) Regulations,
1957, dated July 16, 1957, made by the Governor in
Council under section 32 of the Immigration and
Passport Act, 1945 (No. 7/1945).


1. Citation. These Rogulations may he cited as the
Immigration and Passport (Amendment) Regulations, 1957,
and shall be read as one with the Immigration and Passport
Regulations, 1947 (General Government S. R. & 0. 1947 No.
14) as amended, hereinafter called the Principal Regulations.
2. Amendment. The Principal Regulations are
hereby amended-
(i) by inserting the following immediately after the
words Every such person in regulation 4:-
(expect a person upon whose travel docu-
ment there is a permit exempting him
from preparing an Embarkation/
Disembarkation Card when leaving or
entering the Colony)";
(ii) by inserting after regulation 25A the following
new regulation numbered 25B:-

"25B. FEE FOR PASSPORTS AND VISAS.
The fee for the issue or renewal of passports or
for the grant of British visas to aliens for the
purpose of visiting British territory shall be as
follows:-
(a) issue of passport ... $7.20;
(b) renewal of passport ... .96;
(c) grant of British visas ... $5.40";
and
(iii) by substituting the following for Form B"
in the Schedule:-

a Public Holiday in the Colony of Antigua.

A 'PROCLAMATION
ALEC LOVELACE,

WHERI AS by section 5 (a) of the Public Holidays Act,
1954 (No. 19/1951) as amended, it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor from time to time with the advice of
the Executive (Council to issue a proclamation appointing a
special day or part of a day to be reserved as a public holiday
throughout thl Colony:
AND WH ER EAS the Governor, with the advice of the
Executive Council of the Colony of Antigua, considers it
expedient that Tuesday the 6th day of August, 1957, should
be reserved and kept as a Public Holiday in the Colony:
NOW, THEIREFORE, I do, with the advice of the
Executive Council of the said Colony of Antigua, in exercise
of the powers conferred by the said section of the said Act,
appoint Tuesday the 6th day of August, 1957, a special day to
be reserved as a public holiday in the said Colony of Antigua.
A 1) all Her Majesty's loving subjects in the said Colony
and all others whom it may concern are hereby required to
take due notice hereof and to give their ready obedience
accordingly.

GIVEN at the Administrator's Office, Antigun,
this 24th day of July, 1957, in the sixth
year of Her Majesty's reign.

STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS.

1957, No. 17


Order in Council dated 2nd July, 1957, made by the
Governor in Council under Section 16 of the Magistrate's
Code of Procedure Act (Cap. 61), as amended, appoint-
ing the place where the Magistrate's Court shall be
held.

WHEREAS by section 16 of the Magistrate's Code of Procedure
Act (Cap. 61), as amended, it is enacted that the Governor may by
Order in Council from time to time appoint the places where and the
time when Magistrate's Courts shall be held in the Colony:
NOW, THEREFORE, the Governor in Council doth hereby order
and appoint as follows:-

1. Citation. This Order may be cited as the Magistrate's Courts
Order, 1957.

2. Sittings of Courts. Until further Order, the Magistrate's
Courts for the Colony shall be held at 10.00 a.m., or at such other time
as the Magistrate may appoint on the days and at the places shown
hereunder-
(a) At the Agricultural Station, Road Town, every Wednes-
day and on such other days as the Magistrate may appoint.
Provided that no Court shall be held while the
Supreme Court is sitting in the Colony.
(b) 'At the Government Clinic Building, The Valley, Virgin
Gorda, on the second Thursday in every month and on
such other days as the Magistrate may appoint.
8. Commencement. This Order shall come into operation on
the 2nd day of July, 1957.
