approximately 40 works by both 19th century and
contemporary photographers, placed in eye-opening
juxtapositions that reveal new insights into techniques,
imagery and artistry. And as an added bonus,
large photographic prints by Jerry Uelsmann and
Maggie Taylor are exhibited in the museum's Recent
Acquisitions space in the Galleria entrance lobby and
in the Cofrin Pavilion. The installation of these works
is in collaboration with UFs University Gallery, where
lust Suppose: Photographs by Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie
Taylor remains on view through Nov. 9.
Stay tuned for further photographic pleasures. Opening
at the Harn March 11 will be an installation titled
University of Florida's Photographic Legacy with 40
photographs produced by UF faculty and graduates over
roughly half a century. In summer 2008 the focus will
shift to innovative digital image manipulation in the
exhibitions Almost Alice: New Illl'tr ilt,' of Wonderland
by Maggie Taylor and Cross-Currents in Recent Video
Iitilldi/i, i: Water as a Metaphor for Identity.

aesthetics of De Stijl-a group of artists who collaborated
in 1917 under the leadership of Theo van Doesburg and
began publishing a magazine called De Stijl. The group
was committed to purifying modern art and bringing it
