MYSTERIOUS DEATH.

calliAg bim.'lf Mr. J. Bridge," arrived in this
city last week from Bermuda, He was recommend-
ed by -in officer of the steamer to Mr. Gall at Myr-
tle Bank, where, he took up his residence last week.
In the course of conversation, he stated that be
was an Englishman and had lived three years in
Bermuda, but beyond this he did not communi-
eate any particulars about himself. When he had
retired to bis room in the evening of Fridi-.v,he
indul,.-ed in drinking largely of a bottle: of brandy,
with --hich he haht furnished himself, and was bherd
by a imbuer in the 1si'.,e to talk confusedly of set-
tling somebody. Early uext morning, Mr. Gall
was ii forme: that !ir. Bridge hbad taken laud.anum,
and .-, at once conveyed Mr. Bridge to the Ho-s
);t'l -nl1 a bus. At the Hospital he received ev,'ry
atten o)n but had so fat -absorbed the poison into

at present be obtained from her officers about the
deceased, who had a first class passage on board
from Bermuda. When asked at Myrtle Bank a
casual queatin as to his intention to go to the U.
