DEAFNEU CANNOT BE CURED
by local application, as they cannot
reach the diseased portions of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deaf-
naes, and that Is by constitutional
remedies. Deafness is caused by an
Ilammed condition of the mucuo" lin-
ing of the hustachlan Tube. When
the tube is Inflamed you have a
rumbliag sound of Imperfect hearing,
end when It Is entirely closed, deaf-
neso Is the result, and unless the in-
a-aniaen esan be taken out and this
tube restored to its normal condition,
bearing will be destroyed forever:
mine cases out of ten are caused by
catarrh, which is nothing but an in-
famed condition of the mucous sur-
faces.
We will give One Hundred Dollars
for any case of deafness (caused by
estarrh) that cannot be cured by
Hairs Catarrh Care. Send for cir-

a- e-Cmm th
San Antonio. Teas, Oct. 19.-A
military review and reception at Fort
Sam Houston and a grat public
dci~.osoatlon In Alamo Plasa, where
the heroes of Texas fought and died.
constituted President Taft's program
yesterday. The city was killed with
visitors, the quaint building of the
old Spanish city were swathed In
bunting and many bands played con-
stoatly.
The president left In the afternoon
over the San Antonio and Aranass
Pass railroad for Corpus Christi.
where he wil spend four days a othe
ranch of his brother.
From El Pani to in Anteoni
San Antonio. Texas. Oct. It.-The
president's travels brought hMm to the
far South yesterday.
After twenty-one hours of contin-
nous Journeying fro Paso, he ar-
rived here at 7:30 p. m., and despite
the taet that it was Sunday night, was
given a cheering welcome.
After being received by the city of-
fclals, the president was driven to
the hotel with an escort of cavalry,
and later in the evening proceeded
to Fort Sam Houston, where he as-
sisted In the dediat.lon and accepted
on behalf of the overmnent., the
chapel which has been erected at the
famous old army post by the citizens
of Ban Antonio.
This morning, the president helped
to put In place the corner stone of
the nearly completed chapel; review-
ed the troops stationed at Fort Sam
Houston, and returning to the city
made an out-door address to the peo-
ple from the grandstand in Alamo
Plaza.
At Del Rib, Sandersoi and one or
two other places, the president made
brief addresses to the depot throngs
which were made up In part of MeN
leans, residents of the community.
and farmers who had driven many
miles ,ln their best "Sundayr-o-to-
meettng" clothes.
The president, at the Peeco river.
passed over what is declared to be
the highest railway bridge in the
world. The river runs in a rocky
canon 325 feet below the rails. The
wind was blowing a gale and 'the en-
gineer of the president's train ran at
a veritable snail's pace over the slen-
der steel structure.
SWEPT OVER NIAGARA
This terrible calamity+ often hap-
pens because a careless boatman Ig-
nores the river's warnings-growing
ripples and faster current. Nature's
warnings are kind. The dull pain or
ache In the back warns eyu the kid-
neys need attention it you would es-
cape fatal maladies-dropey. diabetes
or Bright's disease. Take Electric
Bitters at once and see backache f7
and all your best feelings return. "Af.
tr long suffer long suering from weak kidney
and lame back, one $1 bottle wholly
cured me," writes J. R. lsloke-mip,
of Belk. Tenn. Only Me. a bottle at all
