aunt. Mrs. William. Jeecle. where she
will be given every attention that she
may regain her former ieafth In body
and mind. -

paper. upon one of which was the
statement that no bilt bad been found
agalnst Miss Brown. Sheriff Bowden
was notified Inmmediately ad In turn
notified the waltUg ftmty and friends
of the little woman.'
Jailer Argo was instructed to re-.
leave the prisoner, and this he did,
while friends and family greeted her
with wide open arms, carrying her to
a place where she may recuperate and
live to forget the tragedy, which the
grand Jury has seen fit to overlook,
probably on the grounds that It was
thought justfiable, although no state-
ment was or can be made by the
members of that body.
Apparently not yet knowing just
why or where she bad been confined,
yet showing signs of Joy uion her face
when she was once more with the
members of her family, and leaving
the little Iron walled room which has
been her home. Jessie Brown was car-
ried out to a waiting carriage and tak-
en to the home of her aunt, on West
Church street, near the King's road.
Her condition Is much Improved and
ultimate recovery is now expected.

Man. a farm hand employed at his
farm hear Cambon, a small station on
the St. PeterAbWt division of the At-
lantic Coast Line, eleven miles west
of thw. city. as the iaght .a March 12

wife, who was mieely a girl barely
past her teens, ana whom he accused,
when he gave up to Sheriff Bowden lan
this city a few hours later, of unfaith-
fulnes. It was ,is contention that Mc-

phreys saw the couple through a crack
In the log house which was his home,
and fired through the aperture. The
wife died a few days later at the
county hospital In this city, after de-
