With the approaching game season
it will probably be of interest to
sportsmen generally to know just
what the law is relating to game.
I Just now, when the closed season is
about at an end, violations of the law
are numt numerous.
Under the laws of this State it is
Illegal to hunt, chase, kill or molest
any wild deer, except during tie
months of November,- December andl
January. The law provides a max-
imun fine of $100, or hIprisonment
for six months.
It is equally unlawful to have deer
meat in one's posses-ion during the
ekloed season. In addition to this
the law is very explicit in regard to
selling the flesh or hides or shipping
same from State.
When it comes to game birds, es-
pecially turkey and quail, the law is
very *clear just how many birds of
each species may be killed by a sin-
gle hunter, and the number which a
single hunter, ami the number which
a party of two or more persons umay
kill in a day e hunL Here is the
"No person ..r persons shall have
in tis, her or their po-.mssion, or
shall hunt or kill any wild turkey or
quail or partridge in any part of this
State, save only from the first day of
November until the first day Iof
March of any year.4 No peraom sft
kill more than two wild turkeys, nor
more than twenty quaIls, and no
party of two or more persons shall
kill more than four wild turkeys or
more than forty quail in any one day.
And no person shall kill more than
fve wild turkeys in any one year,
and no person or persons, firm, cor-
poration, association or company
shall sell, expose for sale or have in
his, her or their posession for sale in
this State, any wild turkey, quail or
partridge. Any penon or perso0,

In view ,of the present cmsdition of
the times aid the inclination of,
everybody to live as economically as
possible, a large number of the Ree-
ord's subscrihers have let their sub-
scription run over due, to which we!
would respectfully call their attention.
We would impress upon all those who a
ar in arrers for the Record, that
wpe the a"ut to them is small .

anid would not discommode them iun
the least to make settlement for!
same, a large number of them like'
we have, if paid promptly, would
help us greatly to relieve our credi-
tois and help to keep the wolf from
the door. Seriously, we must collect
all arrearages on suburiptions, and
we will appreciate it if you will look
at the date on the margin of your
paper, sit right down and forward us
the amount at once. This will save
a collector from calling on you with-
in the next few days.

Of Quality al d Prices Tells

'rnrWK wiLIUD

S We promised the eole of Fernadipw to givp them such values as they had never seen before,
ad we are living upo our promises in the fual sbmse of the word and shall continued to do so.

We have fortifed the points weakened by the heavy sellinof the opening days, with values even
eaota- than bere, therefore, if saving counts your expenditures, you must act at' once, as such
rganthese cannot last long.

Gt your share, fir vernlv ts is the chance of a lifetime.

Only a few more days remain. Op* week frdom tomorrow (Saturday) night closes this eventful
efaing of extra ordinary economissat J. & T. KYDD'S.
l his onlmination of a triumphant*aale event has swept every vestige of co-petiLion from its path
and it is making new selling records every day. f

For in each business hour asorttments grow less. If there is a need in any of toe various lines of mar-
chamndi composed by this assortm-we candidly advise an early visit for ours are prices, which
are very real and very helpful toall ofas who must count expenditures.
