AT WORK

ON THE PLANS

Dr. E. L. Potter Busy With Ini-
tiatory Work Of The New
Clarendon.

MliMi BON INAUIMATED.

Dr. Potter's architect, a specialist in
maoder hotel oostruction, is in the city
wentag t the plans for the big hos-
teltr which is soon to start frm the

ground.
Dr. Potter and the architect have
been on the beach looking over the site,
and they are now down to business
working out details.
They are making all possible head-
way, but to plan and construct a build-
ing along the lines and of the propor-
tions contemplated, necessarily will re-
quire more time than it would to build
the regulation wooden structure.
A huge fire-proof building if concrete
and steel with all the u ,-to-date eswen-
tials, means that Dr. Potter will bkaO
exceedingly busy man till those details
are disposed of and the new hotel stands
pick and span, grand and imposing, on
the prettiest beach a breaker ever thun-
dered upon.
The new location for the Clarendon
will start a building boom something
like two miles south of the format' loca-
tion, and this will have a beardi on the
location of the big concifte bridge
which will sooner or iats s n the Hali-
fax.
In a visit to Dayton few days ago
Representative Jas. E. Alexandcr as-
sured the Daily News that the prospect t
is good for State aid on such bridge.
Mr. Alexander thinks the State will will-
ingly vote an appropriation of say one-
thtrd the cost, and that Daytona should
bear a certain proportion of expense
and the cities on the peninsular side the
remainder.
The prospect for the materialization
of all these scheme* which mean so
much for the Daytana district look
bright indeed, and already the sound of
the hammer and the buzz of thte saw
are beard.
