Venice is on the West Coast of Florida, 70 miles south of Tampa.
on the Gulf of Mexico. The elevation is 13 feet.

U. S. Highway 41 (Tamiami Trail) passes through Venice.

8. Recreational Facilities;
Shuffleboard, tennis, golf, swimming, fishing, and yachting facilities
are available. The greens fee for the nine-hole golf course is 41.20.
9. Hunting;
Quail are found in this section. It is about six miles to unposted hunting
grounds. Hunting lodges and hunting guides are not available.
10. Fishing:
Salt water tarpon, kingfish, bluefish, mackerel, and other salt water
fish are caught in the Gulf of Mexico. Fresh water bream, perch, and trout
are caught in the Ltakka River, Mac Ringo, Bruce Rigby, Benn Dunn, and
Frank Lanius are fishing guides. There are numerous charter fishing boats
available that will accommodate up to 12 persons. The usual fee is v25
and up.
