Montverde is in
Lake Apopka and


Central Florida, 20 miles northwest of Orlando.
near Lake Florence. The elevation is 182 feet.


2. Transportation:

Florida Highway 455 passes through Montverde. Greyhound Lines passes three
miles from town. Air and rail service is not available.

3. Population:


Lake County had a population of 27,946 in 1945. The population
was 263.

Fresh water bass, perch, and bream are caught in Lake Apopka and Lake Florence.
There are three camps in the vicinity, Tom's Camp, McCarley's Lodge, and Don's
Camp. These camps will accommodate from 75 to 100 persons. Fishing guides
are not available.

11. Churches:

Methodist and Community churches have services in Montverde.

Part C---Accommodations

There are no hotels, tourist courts, or guest homes in Montverde. Meals are
served at Camp Restaurant. Tom's Camp also has a trailer park.
