1. Location:

Island Grove is in North Florida, 19 miles north of Ocala, and 23 miles
southeast of Gainesville. Island Grove is on the shore of Orange Lake.
Lochloosa Lake is nearby. The elevation of the town is 69 feet.

2. Transportation:

U. S. Highways 200 and 325 pass through Island Grove. The Seaboard Air Line
Railroad provides rail service for Island Grove. Bus service is provided
by the Greyhound Lines. Air service is not available.


3. Population:

Social activities are held at Community Hall.

9. Hunting:

Quail, dove, turkeys, riildcnts and foxes are found in this section.
Hunting is permitted in the Ocala National Forest, about 30 miles from
Island Grove, during an organized deer hunt in December. There are no
hunting lodges or hunting guides available.

10. Fic: in,-:

Fresh rater bass, perch, bream, catfish, shiners, and jack are caught in
Orange Lake and Lochloos, Lake. Cross Creek Fishing Camp, Route 1, Han-
thorne, Florida, has about 25 small motor boats for rent.

11. 'Churches:

The Methodist and Baptist denominations have services at Island Grove.

There are no hotels, tourist courts, trailer parks, or guest homes in
Island Grove. There are a few private homes where meals are served to
the public.
