1. Loesation:

Cottpge Bill is in west Florida, 15 miles north of r:nsacola.
It is about 25 miles froi.' the Uulf of ',exico, between the
Lscambia and rerdido Fivers. The elevation is about 131 feet.

2. Transportation:

U. S. Hi.h.-y 29 passes through Cottage Hill. The Louisville
and Nashville Railroad provides rail service. Bus service
is provided by Greyhouind Lines. Air service is not available.

3. Population:

Escambia County had a population of 105,262 in 191.5. Cottage
hill is an unincorporated town and its population figures were not
reported.

4. Climate;

5. History:

Cottage Hill was named by a Louisville and Nashville Railroad
superintendent, Mr Saltmarsh, who suggested the name because
there were cottages built on hills around the village.

unposted hunting, grounds in' this vicinity. Hunting lodges and

Salt water snapper, mullet, trout, redfish, flounder, crab, and
other salt water fish L.re caught in the Gulf of Mexico, bays, and
bayous. Fresh water trout, bream, and jack are c-auht in rivers.

The Lethodist denomination has services in Cottage Hill;
