MARIGOT C ENT"


The Extra Mural Tutor invites interested persons to
a Seminar "Prom Hobby to Income" to be held in Marisot,
(Old Zion Building) starting on Tuesday lot August, at
9 o'clock and ending on Saturday 5th August, at 12 noon,
Sessions will last three and one half (3j) hours in the
morning, and two and one half (2 -) hours in the afternoon.
The registration fee is $4.00 ,(o help defray the outlay in
materials).

Instructors will be Mir. E. Milota7 U.N. Expert in Tech-
nical Design, attached to the Ministry of Home Affairs and
Dr. E. Ilueller Resident Tutor. The Seminar will be held for
multipliers of skills, i.e. persons who will pass on the
skills acquired and/or perfectioned to individuals and groups
in their respective neighbourhood and communities, for self-
employment.

THEORY: pricing, marketing, special (sieLle) book-keeping,
group dynamics.

PRACTICAL: toy making, (hard & soft) & repairing, rug making
& design (Smyrna technique) simple furniture,
handicraft with natural material, Hardanger embroid-
ery on crocos bags etc.

Participants are asked to bring bamboo cut to roughly
I yd. in length, with diameter ran,;ing from rou hl:y 3 ins.
to the thickness of the small finger, shells (cleaned) corals,
plaits of verti vert or screw pine. Their working kits must
Contain, for men:- a ahaPp -troni. pocket knife, a razor bl:-
if possible a file for wood or metal, and a piece of fine and
ro i.h sand paper. Ladies:- Working kits must contain black
and 7hite thread and needles, a pair of sharp scissors and if
possible a thimble. Everyone, (ladies and gentlemen) will
have to bring a piece of cloth to be used in cleaning of paint
and utensils as well as working clothes.

Leatherette cloth, oil paint, brushes and saws will be
supplied* Participants will decide on various types of work
for"specialization.

There will be thirty (30) places available, therefore,
students are advised to register as soon as possible at the
Methodist Manse,
