ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO FULL TIME DEGREE COURSES
OCTOBER 1970

REVISED NOTICE

Applications are invited for admission in October 1970 to the three centres of the University of the West
Indies. Students who will have attained the age of 17 years on 31st December, 1970 will normally be eligible
for admission. However, applicants below this age who satisfy the norma 1('A' level) Matriculation require-
ments are also eligible.
Courses for the following degrees are offered on campuses as set out below:

Affairs, U.W.I. St. Augustine, Trinidad&,iorthe Assistant Registrar, Student ~ AfaMrs, U.W.I., Cave Hil,
Barbados.
APPLICATIONS
Application forms are available from the Assistant Registrar, Student Affairs, at Mona, St. Augustine and
Cave Hill and from Resident Tutors in territories without campuses. Application forms should be submitted
to the Assistant Registrar at the campus at which applicants intend to read for their degree.
Application forms should be completed in TRIPLICATE.
Applicants must NOT apply to more than one Faculty or more than one Campus in any one year.
LATE APPLICATIONS: Late applications for entry only, may be submitted up to 31st March, 1970 and
must be accompanied by a late application fee of J$1.05, E.C. $2.52, T. & T. $2.52.
SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATION-FEBRUARY 1970
1. Scholarships administered by the University, Government Exhibitions and Bursaries are awarded on
the results of a Scholarship Examination.
2. This Examination will be held during the period 23rd to 27th February, 1970.
3. The closing date for applications to write the Examination is 15th December, 1969.
4. No applications to write the Scholarship Exam;iation received after the 15th December, 1969 will be
accepted.
5. Applications to write this Examination must be accompanied by a fee of J$2.50, E.C. $6.00, T & T $6.00.
This fee will not be refunded in cases of withdrawals.
The Scholarship Examination consists of:
(1) A General Paper, and
(2) Two main papers chosen from the list of sub
jects below:

Pure Mathematics

NOTES:
(a) Biology may not be taken with Botany or Zoology.
(b) Pure and Applied Mathematics may not be taken with Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics
(c) History may not be taken with British Constitution or English Economic History.
